Our staff will be introducing a new combat manuever into the werewolf combat system. This manuever is called a Full Defensive Action and works as follows.
Mechanically, a full defensive action allows you to defend against an unlimited number of attacks, as long as you have base dice. Each time you defend against an attack, you lose 1 die towards each successive defensive act.
You may only use the basic defensive actions of Dodge, Block, & Parry.
A Full Defensive action is a Full round action and therefore must be declared at the beginning of the round and CANNOT be aborted.
A Full Defensive action can only be used to protect yourself.
Ex. Jim spends 3 rage and is attacking bob, so bob decides to declare a Full Defensive Action. Bob has a Dex+Dodge of 6 dice. Bob dodges jim's first attack with all 6 of his dice. Bob dodges Jim's second attack with only 5 dice. Bob dodges Jim's third attack with only 4 dice. Bob finally dodges Jim's fourth attack with only 3 dice.
Rage can be spent to negate the successive die penalties on a 1 for 1 basis.
Ex. Jim spends 3 rage and is attacking bob, so bob decides to declare a Full Defensive Action and spend 2 rage. Bob has a Dex+Dodge of 6 dice. Bob dodges jim's first attack with all 6 of his dice. Bob dodges Jim's second attack with 6 dice because he spent rage. Bob dodges Jim's third attack with 6 dice again because he spent rage. Bob finally dodges Jim's fourth attack with only 5 dice because he only spent 2 rage.
Note, this will also work against multiple opponents.
