Another homeless man killed

The body of another homeless man was discovered downtown yesterday morning. This brings the total of homeless people found murdered over the last month to nine.
Police Officer Greg Hambly said the homeless man was found at the spot where he had been sleeping every night since August.
“He was physically disabled and harmless” said Mackenzie Brighton, a local business owner. “He was always very friendly. Didn’t scare away any of my customers. It’s just a senseless tragedy.”
Police spokeswoman Hazel Deveraux said: “We do not have evidence that this is the work of a serial killer and our investigation is still ongoing. There is no reason for the public to panic. However, we do urge any homeless to seek shelter.”
She said anyone with information on the murders could call the local tip line: 555-555-5555.
