Man who died after being clawed to death in San Juan Island chapel was minister
Albert Zwollier, 42, died after he was clawed by an unknown animal on the steps of the San Juan wedding chapel. Friends say ‘he was a good man’ who ‘treated everyone good.’ No sign of the animal has been found, police said.

The 42-year-old man killed by a vicious animal on the steps of a wedding chapel when man and beast came together was a non-denominational minister who preached love and respect for others, devastated friends said Monday.
"He was a good man," Lacie Rodriguez told the Daily News near Albert Zwollier's childhood home in the Central District of Seattle. "His sister found out from police last night. This is shocking. He's my daughter's godfather. How am I supposed to tell her this?"
Zwollier, who friends said was known as "padre," met with his demise at the San Juan Island Wedding Chapel, near the San Juan Ferry terminal, late Saturday, early Sunday when the clawed Zollier, knocking him to the ground, police said.
Zwollier later died, police said.
"He was a good person and he treated everyone good," May Scarborough, 56, said. "His mother had him in church his whole life."
Friends said the minister may have arrived there to marry a couple who were recently engaged.
"You just never know," Rodriguez said. "It's so shocking."
Police said they are looking for the couple who had been scheduled to marry at the chapel, and might have more information about the animal that attacked the minister, pending the medical examiner’s investigation.
