Look at your sheet the week after you've filled it out, and the temp. Renown will be there.

We can possibly come up with ways for the "spirits" (i.e. STs) to notice stuff people do, and add/subtract Renown, but we can't do this for every person, every time. If you really, really don't get how the whole thing works, come to an ST (Andrew and I have had some off time during each of the last two weeks) and ask for a walk-through.

Please don't take the sheets out of the book, we do look at it every week... if we know you'll be a week behind every time since you do it during/before game, fine... I understand people don't want to sit after game. If the after game bit gets to be a hassle, we can figure something out.

It's more the fact that A: I know exactly how the renown system works - when I said "Figure it out" I was referring to the lengthy process of figuring out what renown my character and pack were worthy of during the week. B: I think the entire concept of figuring out your own renown is rather egotistical. C: I'd rather play the game for the entire 4 hours than spend half an hour delaying scenes. We get started late as it is, and we stay way too late to compensate for it, also.

Now, I understand that the game is far too large for the STs to keep track of who did what that was renown worthy (like in a smaller game). I am more than willing to try and work out during the week what I did that the STs might consider renown-worthy, but spending a good chunck of time transcribing it into the desired format when I could be RPing and having fun annoys me. IMHO, if the STs want it in that format, then people should be able to take it out and take it home, to fill it out there at their leisure. Otherwise you are making people waste time transcribing info at game instead of gaming.

Here is my idea, based loosely on what I've seen work in other games: a system where, instead of having a monthly form in a static book, there were a bunch of blank renown forms in a format that is easy for the ST to read. These are set out to for the players, to be taken and filled out at home, and then brought back and put in a folder for the STs to process and put in a permanent record section for each player. That way you'd only have sheets for when it was needed, and the players could record where and when they liked. And I bet the handwriting would be more legible that way too, if they aren't rushed!

And if they lose it, they take a new one (thus the point of generic sheets) and have to fill it out again...the punishment fitting the crime, as it were. It's not like by writing it down it magically erases their memories.
