Doesn't mean I've spent any time actually doing anything about it.

At worst, all I'll need is some hair gel, a cigar, and a little make up.

(and thank me for not turning the "9 month" thing into a sideways suggestion that I was getting pregnant all this time just for Halloween)

Rolf 's ribbing aside, here's a poke from the other side.

I spent most of my time within the confines of the Elysium last week and spoke with every Primogen and every Court Member known to me, with the exception of the Prince as he was not available (still waiting for the last five weeks for his calander to clear enough to see me).

During all of these conversations, the topic of Accounting did not come up, (except when someone wanted to borrow a sum of cash, but that is different topic by definition).

So, I am wondering, how to play this.

Options:

1.) Was my not being informed intentional, therefore I cannot act on this post.

or

2.) Was the lack of announcement an over-sight or rather "They just didn't get around to telling me" type of thing and I should react as though I had been "Officially Informed".

or

3.) The Prince ordered an Accounting and will darn well have "His Accounting", but heads are going to roll for not complying with his wishes.

Detail of Options:

Option #1 brings on many role-play opportunities for myself, the players of my Clan-mates, the rest of the players as well and what fun we could have with that (well maybe not so much fun, but some serious play could result.

Option #2 while being the easy way out does have the play but not so much the tension and intrigue that the previous option may produce.

Option #3, this option alone has some very unique possiblities to it and goes right down to what the Camarilla is about.

Observations:

I know not what had been said to whom or who was to pass along the "Prince's Order for an Accounting", I just know that here it is Thursday afternoon and I am just getting (not quite in role-play fashion) informed.

Evidently, Shakir was not the only Primogen who wasn't informed, this indicates a lack of either attention or detail, but that is not for me to say.

I am alittle put out by some of the retcon play or being told that this is the way it was, not how it really occured.

Conclusion:

The Accounting should go as planned either way you look at it.
At this point I like option #3 as this puts the onus back on the higher-ups and who says that "That's not what my character would have done had I known (Insert Thought Here)" is all it is Cracked-Up to be.

Play-On, but tell me what stage is set since you have now opened the curtain.

EDIT: and to help alleviate this question all around, I will likewise PM every Primogen with a registered account on the boards with a similar message.

EDIT2: I think I may have cut-and-pasted a couple of the Primogen messages with a "double greeting," but that's just a player typo, not an IC slight, so you can't use it against Kenneth. neener.

On another note, there has been an accounting every six months in Seattle for the last two years. Any character that has been around awhile would most likely have the date marked on a calendar somewhere. Or their ghoul would.

OOC posts resulting in an In Game reponse. It is one thing when the ST is attempting to relay the stage direction. It is quite another for the actors to start rewriting the script based on that information.

Actually, I am not harping on the ST's as much as I am the Player's of our characters themselves.

The Accounting is an IC event that the ST's are gracious enough to give us all the "Heads-Up" on so that we as players can plan appropriately.

But the reality of the situation goes back to the Players of the Characters and how those characters are played and interact with each other.

In Game, the Prince's Order for an Accounting was either trickled out to only a few individuals or wasn't even relayed by the Prince at all, I know not which, however it all boils down to Playability and working with what has actually been Played-Out.

If it comes down to, "You heard it while you were at the Elysium during the week" then I would prefer that this is played out.

Hearing from a Ghoul that the Prince gave the order may happen, but am I to believe, let alone listen to a Ghoul unless I am the one asking the questions. If such were the case, then I get the option of going after those who In-Game were to have been the ones responsible for informing me.

Politics and Intrique my friends, that is a good portion of Camarilla Vampire.

Now, because of an OOC rant about what the ST's have set for the stage, an IC response has been fabricated to help eliviate the situation. Thanks Ross, but why did Kenneth send out those letters, had he been told by the Prince or Seneschal to do so, due to timing I think not.

This goes back to OOC vs IC information effecting In-Game Play.

Nobody is saying it wouldn't have been better to do this in game from the beginning. Obviously the STs are sorry about that. It seems also obvious that players wish it weren't so. Clearly some role play opportunities for this announcement were missed out on. Shucky darns.

What about all that role play we're missing out on at 8:30 pm on a Tuesday?

We make certain concessions for the fact that this is a game that only runs for four hours a week. Let's not bemoan the few unplanned ones to death is all I'm sayin'.

Point of fact, the Harpy is the "employee" of the Primogen Council. Kenneth really doesn't want to have any of his backers able to say

"An Accounting? You're the Harpy! Why didn't you tell me?!"

So, consider it a CYA situation, if that helps.
