“Promise me… if I’m ever possessed… you will deal with it.”
“I promise.” There was no hesitation in his voice. “I have many ways of dealing with such things without having to kill you.”
“But if those ways don’t work… you’ll deal with me.”
Again, no hesitation. “Yes. I promise.” A pause. A concerned look. “It is what our clan does.” He quirks an eyebrow and silently asks, Is there something I need to know?
She ignored the unasked question. A quick look at his aura told her he wasn’t lying. In this, at least, she could still trust him. She nodded and turned away. “Thanks.”
