Yes, it would be naive to assume that asimple xp reset would solve the inequality, but that's not what I'm proposing. Try and look at the big picture; a reboot in setting and system necessitates a character reboot and I'm doing this to balance the ooc atmosphere. You seem preoccupied with the mechanical inequalities which, while at times ridiculous, is not my aim. I'm all for xp differences. What you are referring to as stop gap; perhaps you are right, but I have no desire or right to set policy for any HSTs that come after me. I'm taking these measures to do a bottom-up attempt to draw out role-playing and allow interesting characters to have as much power as those who scour the boss for an edge.
Also, my 100xp for starting characters isn't to appease the haunted house workers, it's for everyone. I appreciate the service you gave,I directed a scene last year so I know, but I can't justify allowing some people to keep bonus xp and not others. This is of course open for discussion, but my focus is on the bigger picture. I would love to talk to you at game tonight.

Of course all games require competition, but all stories require cooperation. Yes it's backstabbing, but a lot is arbitrary, regardless of how many new rules are put up (what's to stop an ST from sending 3 cops after a distress call, or 10, or 50... see what I mean?)
Larp, believe it or not, is cooperation just as much as competition. I want to foster a lot more cooperation, so that the competition is in good spirits and not taken personal.
