Before dawn Samhain morning:
Devery stretched and curled into the warmth of the person she was sleeping intertwined with, a small smile forming on her lips with a slight baring of teeth. A few moments later she made a discontent noise and shifted again trying to fall back asleep, going against her natural inclination to get up and watch as the sun crept over the horizon. There was a scent that tickled her nose and kept trying to wake the slumbering side of her, the smell of hunts left undone. Reluctantly Devery pulled herself out of the warm bed and entangling limbs.
She felt it rising in her like silent music that played only to her soul. As the sun rose Devery almost smelled the end of summer. Winter always started with the taste of blood and the scent of death in the air. A feral grin crosses her face, it was going to be a good season.
