New color scheme is really hard to read

The thread table background, that dark brown tone, combined with the dark orange for previously clicked links is very, very hard to read.

Can we get a different color for the links? My first inclination would be a red of the slightly darker variety.

This work is not complete, it is in progress. I'm trying some new things centered around the scheme associated with Sarah B's graphics. I'll get lots of feedback before I'm though though, promise!

Also, no matter what you can always change your own personal board profile colors!

I don't think I see the new colors. I see the new logo, and a brownish new background at the topmost box, but the rest of the colors and the site's background image is still the same as always.

Hmm, if I'm logged out, I see the new stuff. Logged in, and it's old-skool. But then if I hit "load default skin" (I didn't think I had it customized, but that'd seem to be the answer) then I get black-on-black with blue link text. That ain't right, either.

Working on it. Its a matter of setting the new colors to be the default view. Confusingly, I named the old colors "Default" and the new ones "Urban Scrapbook", which I had to set to be the default scheme. By doing so, it told me that Urban scrap book was not Default, which was correct, and also misleading. This is yet another example of why naming conventions are key.

I just went in my profile and changed the background from "default" to "urban scrapbook". Seemed to work for me.

Ok, the latest set of changes you made tied things together. I can read all the stuff again, it doesn't hurt my eyes, and the new site looks spiffy. Thanks Chris and Sarah!

There are only two hard problems in computer science: cache invalidation, and naming. Everything else is easy.

And I have renamed the old board colors to Emerald RPS, so if you want the new colors, just go to Profile>Modify Profile> Select Skin (drop down box) and select UrbanScrapbook.

New message board profiles will have that selected by default, but old salts like us have to manually select it.

Wow, you're right. I'll get a new graphic up soon. Might be a day or so with a move, but it's a quick change in Photoshop, so if I have ten minutes tonight I'll post a new one. Good catch.
