A Little Home Improvement

It was finally finished. Aiden had passed the challenge for Alpha and now the Clashing Boom Boom pack was his to lead. Yep, Alpha over an angry Black Fury and a lupis Glasswalker and neither were to fond of him. "God my work is cut out for me. But I will find a way to gain their trust no matter how long it took. Letting they get to know me and learn about them in turn I guess will be the best start."

And nothing better to get to know someone then to work on a project together. Lucky a project had already fallen in Aiden's lap as Daitaro had commissioned he to build 20 or so perches for the ravens to be placed about the caern.

It would have to wait until the beginning of the week though. The city will require a permit be obtained before the start of the construction. "And how knows how long the paperwork will take. I wonder if there are any Glasswalkers in the city government that could push it along? I hope there are or this will take a fort night to complete."

Monday

"Dear lord help me now," Aiden though as he waited in line. Early in the morning he had awoke before the sun in hope to prepare for the day. Bathing in the river, finding suitable clothes, and shaving off this beard while trying to remember how it was to interact with humans. "How long has it been since I have been around anything but Garou."

Around 0730 Aiden was finally ready to go to the Seattle DPD to start the hardest part of his task. Since he had no really money to speak off, walking was the only way to get around town. It had been hard enough to get the funds together for the fees involved in getting the permit as is, so he was not disappointed that there was no money for a taxi or bus.

As he finally arrived, he quickly makes sure to have all the needed information before walking into the building.

"I really understand now why I have never come back to Human society."

It was close to 1800 now as Aiden finally returned to his home in the Caern. The entire day had been spent waiting in lines, filling out forms, waiting in more line, and all only to get a temporary permit. He would have to go back again soon to get the finally permit okayed, but at least now he could start building without any human interference.

He knew that he should start right away, or at least scout out the places where he would start building, but Aiden had other things on his mind. Shifting back to Lupus, Aiden decided to leave his work for today. It was time to hunt for some food for dinner anyway.

Monday...About 10:30 or so in the morning...

Ah quiet. Sweet serenity. Such a gentle and calming silen-

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEE-!

"Son of a bitch..." A growling lump of black fur and messed up blond and crimson mane shuffled out from beneath the covers that had hidden her. A paw had reached up and whacked the alarm clock away, annoyed at the disgusting noise it had made, wakening her from her sweet and peaceful slumber. A light blue eye flicked open to glare at the time blinking out at her and a disgruntled sigh escape her muzzle. A whine and a stretch was made, the lupus born ragabash lifting herself out of her cozy bed regrettably, wishing only to plop down again and fall back to sleep. Begrudgingly, her paws loped out onto the carpet, strolling out of her bedroom in a lazy gait. Her head hung low, her mane of blond and crimson falling into her face, her tail nearly dragging on the ground. A mighty stretch of her face, her fangs shimmering out into the soft light streaming from the light filtering in from Violet's room down the hallway. An aggressive look, with a more sleepy meaning. Once the yawn had subsided, her paws brought her to her couch a short bound upon the well worn cushions and a claw clacking on the nearby remote and the television across the room pinging into life.

The most recent channel had been watched by Violet more likely, as it was a local news station. Nova herself didn't much care for the TV, though she did appreciate the noise it brought and sometimes she would pay attention to certain things that peeked her interest. This morning, a small newscast caught her attention, a singular aud flicking towards the speakers in mild interest. The anchor woman had mentioned something to the tune of the crow problem in Seattle, how the birds were slowly becoming more and more with little chance of receding. It was a small blurb of a story, but the topic stirred a thought in Nova's still wakening head. Didn't Aiden say something about making perches for the Ravens when they arrived at the Caern? That sounded about right. A tail flicked for a minute, before she decided to get up and change. Her body morphed and her limbs stretched. The fur receded and quietly she sat on the couch in homid form, stretching lightly in place.

"I wonder how that's going..." She thought aloud standing up again and walking back to her room to change clothes for the day. She left the TV on; a habit as if to make herself feel like there were more then just her and Violet in the apartment. She thought back to a couple nights prior when the young Cliath surpassed her and became the new Alpha of Clashing Boom Boom. Well, Nova was glad not to have so much responsibility now. She remembered lightly how the garou had mentioned making perches for the wretched black birds, and the thought made Nova snort to herself.

"Well, Don't know if I'll actually help in making something like that...Not sure if I'm really happy that our new totem changed to something so despicable...oh well.." A shrug was given, her stride moving down her hallway again back to watch the television lazily, her alarm clock tossed lightly in passing at Violet's bed, the dinging sound echoing for a moment as the mechanical noise maker smacked into Violet's head board and landed in the sheets and pillows below. Nova knew how to wake her roommate politely...she just chose not to...

Tuesday

The Sun was finally cresting over the horizon and casting its light into Aiden little cove. As the light rose to his sleepy eyes he awoke with a yawn and a stretch. It had been a peaceful night again for Aiden as he sleep easier knowing a spirit of his tribe was once again watching over him.

Rising up to his paws he slowly moved the the mouth of the cove looking out to the puget sound. No rain had decided to come upon the land during the night and no menacing cloud lurked in the sky. "Looks like today will be a perfect day to start."

As he moved back into the cove, Aiden shifted to homid so he could grab the supplies needed for today. His plans for the first half of the day was only to scout the caern to find the best places for each perch. Knowing he could do it alone, there was no need to involve his new pack yet. Once it came time to build though, they would learn just what he had planned for them.

"That had definitely taken longer then I thought. Dear lord is it already sunset."

Still on the other side of the caern, Aiden decided it is time to start home. As he passed by the houses where the kinfolk lived, he could see the families sitting down to dinner or watching TV. How simple life must be for them here. They are always protected, they have a beautiful home to live in, and there only hardship is the occasional Garou that has frenzied.
When Aiden was younger, he had always wished for such a life. Now though, after years of living alone and in the woods, it was completely foreign to him the thought of having that life. "Finding a wife, moving into a new house, and someday raising a family here? Maybe I was just never meant for it."

Back at his cove, he laid out his map of the caern. He had decided where all the perches should be placed and it was time to mark them on the map so the other Garou of the sept could find them at will later.

Daitaro's wishes for 20 to be made might be a little much now that he laid everything out on the map. At least there would be plenty of over-crossing areas in the ravens vison to spot any trouble. "One at the hot springs, differently one at the cemetery, and a few to cover the kinfolk houses and fields; perfect. Once the material have been gathered, we can start working."

(OOC: Hopefully sometime this week I will have a map posted to actually show where these will be placed.)

The Next Saturday

Working through the night, the last perch is finally complete. To long it had taken to gather help for the task and it had fallen behind schedule. Later this night the Moot would be called and Aiden had hoped to offer the completed tribute to the Sept Totem. "Maybe if I am lucky, the *shiver* weaver spirits will cooperate with me and build the umbra representation of the perches for me a little faster."

Aiden disappears off into the umbra, hopefully to return before the beginning of the Moot
