The Truth in Lies

Becoming at ease with the Garou had been easier then he had expected, extremely easier. The warm reception from the Defiance pack, the willingness of the Garou to do anything for Gaia, and the gorgeous lasses made the place feel like home. "Speaking of lasses, where did that bear go. I could have sworn she was casting her eyes in my direction more then once last night."

"Ah, get you head on straight. There are more important things ta do then that right now. How long has it been now since I have had a chance to slip into the umbra?" Thinking back, the whole trip from Eire had taken longer then expected. Four days on the boat, two days finding a taking off on a train, and then the train had been another five. "It's about time."

"Where did that theurge go, Chinoa? Maybe she would like to go with me."

[Chenoa]

The night was dragging on. In a far corner of the back room, where the light was dimmest, lay a figure of ebony, healing slowly amidst the quiet of the back room of the bar. Her coat was as dark as a midnight shadow, yet a strip of silver ran from the crown of her head down the back of her neck and spread over her mane in what appeared to be a silver stream, spreading as the banks of ebony grew bigger. Her paws were a light silvery white color, reaching only up to the very edge of her knuckles, the underside of her tail feathered with the same silver color. Her eyes for the moment were still closed, her body curled up as contently as she could.

She had returned just barely with her pack the previous evening. The scouting adventure had turned incredibly violent, with banes, silver bullets and to top it off a very protective father's daughter thrown into the mix. All in all, in the end Chinoa had survived, but not unscathed. Her hips and chest were still sore from the silver bullet and the burning radiation of the banes. She had been lucky this time, lucky to be alive and lucky that upon her return a kindhearted bastet had healed her. The silver was gone, the burn was healing; all in all she was happy to say that she was only just sore now. One thing was for certain though, and that evening had surely opened the theurge's eyes; she would need to get stronger, and she would need to do it quickly.

An ear flicked softly, her neck lifting slowly so that her muzzle looked out over the top of the table of the booth she was laying in. She had heard her name, faintly yes, but heard it none the less. Perhaps someone needs my help? she wondered, shifting slowly, sorely, back into homid, her jeans and feathered shirt flowing into shape as she changed her shape. In no time at all, she sat there in silence, fully clothed and blinking her milky eyes in the direction of Gene's voice. A smile spread across her face, the expression hiding the pain she was still suffering from. She would not show weakness, if anyone already thought she was, she would prove them wrong. That was a promise...

"Looking for me Mr. Gene Doherty?" She called softly, raising a hand and twirling her fingers to catch his attention.

Death Dancer busted in when Gene entered. She was in homid, the look of a petite 15ish Russian girl with dark hair. Her hands looked slightly red and she seemed to flex them alot. She took a bit to take each step and each with a pained look on her face.

"Chinoa, Vat re you doing? Lie vack down on ground. Healin vat you needen."

She looked at Gene. Flexing her sore fingers, and grimacing. "Vat you need vith Chinoa? Can't you see healing need? Shot vice she vas. Go von, lveave her be."

She ran a hand over her stomach. "She varly survive wit life. Ve all take beatin day yester. Someting you need, I halp." She said insistently.

[Chenoa]

Before Gene seemed to answer back, the thick russian accent of the younger Death Dancer chimed in like a rock through a stained glass window. The young woman had gone through enough the previous evening as well, and Chinoa's first instinct was to get up to be sure she was healed as best as possible. However, before she was able to stand up, Dancer insisted that she lay back down and relax. A light smile spread across the theurge's face, and she sat back down gingerly in booth she had been resting in before.

"I can assure you Dancer, I am much better, and I have rested enough. I do not wish to be a burden on anyone, nor do I wish to appear weak. Please sit down, let me be sure you are healing too." Her hands outstretched in Dancer's direction, as if beckoning her to her side, calling out to 'show' her her hands. A kind motherly look over took Chinoa's face, and although she had never had the chance to mother a cub before, it definitely showed that she had that particular instinct, strong within her heart. Her silver moon eyes were soft and gentle, inviting regardless of the fact that they could not see the world around her.

"Mr. Gene Doherty.." she continued, her hands still outstretched waiting for Dancer to approach her. "If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to know what you needed my assistance for..."

"It was not really assistance that I was looking for," Gene said as he made his way over to the booth. "It was more your company that I was seeking. It seems you might be a little under the weather for what I had in mind thou."

[Amalric Getz]

Amalric wanders through the back door and gets a beer from the bar and sits down at at a table , setting the army bag containing the war hammer on the floor with a loud thud.

Death Dancer looks to Chinoa and sits next to her. Giving her hands to her. "I vould love to give company Gene, I suffered less fainful wounds than Chinoa er'." She smiles and looks at Chinoa "RREst Chinoa, do not make vorse."

She looks over at Amalric. "Ello'. Go to see gain."

"Where did vish to go Gene?" She asked pulling her hands slightly from Chinoa.

[Amalric Getz]

Amalric looks over with a head nod
"how are things going?"

"Sore but vell. We battled, we inhured, some die and rise. Some make choices they shouldn't ave to make, vet they 'id. Ve Suhive. That matter most, yes?" She looks in Chinoa's direction and rubs her hands together.

She glanced around the bar. "Ve vork as team, yeas? That what we gather for? I know not always what come of deshion but I descide anyhays. I know not effects of decions yet. We live though. This matter, for gaia Righ?"

[Winston / Tegan]

"We live though. This matter, for gaia Righ?"

"Ay, it is. We are already to few, an' need to survive to face the next battle. And the place I 'vish' to go is the umbra. I think we all need a good look at the area from the other side. But now that you are here Amalric, I would not want to exclude you."

Dancer frowns as he makes a stab at her accent, "высокомерный осел" She mutters under her breath. Putting a smile back on her face, she looks at him. "What we decide do? Vere ve go?"

[Amalric Getz]

Amalric finishes his mug of beer
"I can not go in the umbra, i was not blessed that ability, and generally the thing I should be fighting are on the physical plane."

As soon as Dancer's hands touched Chinoa's, a light sparkle danced upon them. The feeling was warm, almost loving in it's motherly touch, and a smile fell upon Chinoa's weary face. How precious a feeling it was to be able to use her gift of Mother's Touch upon a packmate who seemed in pain. The feeling would last for a short while, before her hands began to heal on their own, quickly and painlessly.

"I do hope that helps Dancer..." She'd say softly, before falling silent, listening to the different voices coming out all at once. The hands left hers, and so her own fell to her own lap, ears pricked in interest to everything that was happening around her. She found she was not in proper condition to do, whatever it was that Gene wished of her, so she shrugged it off lightly. He would find someone else to go with him, if she herself could not accompany him.

However, the topic turned to the Umbra, and visibly her human ears twitched. She remembered the umbra, and the horrid creatures that had lurked there on their last endevour. SHe remembered hearing vicious snarls and then the feeling of a burning pain seering across her chest. She remembered barely surviving.

"Why in the world would you want to go to the umbra now? There are nothing but Banes there from what I remember...It would not be safe to travel there without quite a large group." Chinoa's voice was a snap, a motherly caution as it were. Her face had turned from sweet and caring to very concerned and aggitated. No one was making her go back there any time soon, not until she was able to learn a few new gifts that would help her defend herself against the burning of the banes and anything else that would show its sinister head. Of course, she wouldn't mention this to her packmates quite yet. Information only needed to be passed, when the time was correct...
