Paradox is the bane of all Mages, and none are immune to its effects. There are several ways to gain Paradox, and all of them can be found in the book Mage: The Ascension, but getting rid of it is something that has been tweaked with a little. Here is how you can get rid of your Paradox in ECC. Flaws are handled as per the main book, but if you would suffer a temporary flaw at the end of a game session, it instead takes effect on the next game session regardless of time span between games.
Updated: Whenever your Mage casts vulgar magic, there is a chance of backlash. After the final casting test, count up your marbles, new and old, and make a test with one of your Storytellers based on that number. The successes you gain are the number of tokens you return to the Storyteller, and in response you will recieve a flaw based off the TOTAL number of tokens before successes.

Every week of magical non-activity bleeds off one point of Paradox. Familiars can speed up this process, but have costs of thier own. In order to count as non-activity, the mage must go without casting any magic through the entirety of the next week's game play or equivalent (time jumps are special cases.)
