NOTR Financial Report - Nov 2010
We have good news, and bad news, and some perspective. But first: praise!
You guys have been amazing! We’re super stoked to see the enthusiasm and support that keeps all of us in a heated winter play-space with actual bathrooms. Many, many thanks to all the donors and volunteers! Let’s all make sure that the next months are just as awesome. Keep up the good work!
The Good News:
We started with $138 after paying November’s rent.
We collected $1296 in donations.
We have paid December’s rent and now have $734 left in the coffer. (Yes, that’s January rent.)
The Bad News:
We are expecting to make a good amount less money in December than we did in November for a couple reasons:
• Some people donated for the whole year up-front, so we got a large sum in November, but won’t get anything else from these folks till next year.
• Spheres might be closed or at least sparsely populated on Dec 25th & Jan 1st for the holidays. Fewer people in a night mean fewer donations, and a cancelled game means no donations at all. Even if the games decide not to play on a holiday, we still pay full rent.
• It’s the holiday season, which means people will likely be spending more on gifts and less on us.
The Perspective:
As you may know, Jeff was able to raise “extra” money last year that we were able to use to pay the first month’s rent with. We are striving to do the same for 2011. At this time we have enough funds to keep us moving toward that goal, but not what may be considered an “excess”, so we are still not reimbursing ourselves for license fees at this time.
Thank you,
Sarah Bennett
