Secrets Spoken 4: The Toll for the Dead

[Victor Adelai]

The heavily muscled Native paces the Bawn, clearly upset. Fists form and release at the end of gnarled arms, thick with the scars of battle. Growls echo through his chest and red flashes in his eyes. Finally the shaggy head is tossed back and a howl echoes across the Bawn.

"I come for the body of Buddy Rat-Friend. He was a member of my Pack and brother to me. It is my right as Alpha to see his remains tended."

Llue, still not sure in his authority, comes forward. He isn't scared, his steps don't tremble and his gaze doesn't falter. "Lightbringer-yuf, It is my sad duty to inform you of your packmate's death, thought it is clear that you already know this. He died during the exorcism of the Bane that had co-inhabited his body. The bond was too complete. Astrid, Sue, Guy, and I were there when it happened. Astrid has taken care of the body as fitting a fomor, and enemy of Gaia. For any more information, she will have to be asked."

The tower fountain of rage growls deeply.

"I will assume you do not know the insult you speak and forgive you on the basis of my respect for your Pack. My packmate was not an enemy of the Nation. He was violated and the loss of such a warrior should be mourned, not besmirched with such disrespect as casting doubts on his loyalty. You are forgiven this once. Where has Astrid of Fenrir taken my Kin?"

[Valerie]

Astrid is wandering in the Umbra, away from the place beyond the edge of the Bawn where the exorcism was performed and heading east. Her coat has been wrapped around the body of the fallen Bonegnawer, making a simple bundle, which she carries with reverence and obvious discomfort in her white-furred hands. She howls in reply:

"Lightbringer, I have him. I am headed east, towards the border with your land. If you do not wish to meet me so that you may take him there, I will take this burden as my own and inter him somewhere suitable."

The ahroun perks his ear and nods with a furrowed brow. A small nod is given to the Ritemaster.

"Goodevening..."

He wastes no time in heading to the errant Fenrir.

Llue, pauses for a moment, eyes narrowed only slightly, then follows the Ahroun, saying nothing.

[Marks-The-Prey]

The shadows begin shift in place. As if the air and darkness of the night seemed to pull back on itself and reveal a wolf among the trees. The grass, ignorant of his presence refused to splay underfoot.

Marks-The-Prey began to follow the rage, suffering, and pain that was ahead of him.

He may as well have be stalking the others. But observers would note, that this strange sight might actually be an eerie procession for the recently departed.

Though the night was close to an end, the pain of these actions would not soon be forgotten.

They would not soon be forgiven...

As the large Ali'i storms towards the southern borders of the Caern, he steps into the umbra with relative ease. Without a pause his feet leave the ground and off he streaks towards Issaquah.

The Shadow Lord had been watching in wait from the Umbra, crouching in silence while peering across the veil. After a moment of righting his senses, he took flight after his Alpha. A moment passed in silence before caution was raised.

"Lightbringer, it is possible that the entirety of your words did not pass to them. If they did not know all of the details themselves, they are not solely to blame in this grave error."

[Valerie]

As she reaches what she can best discern the border of the Hummingbird pack's territory to be, Astrid sits at the edge, waiting silently. She places the wrapped corpse on her knees, gently tucking in the edges of the makeshift shroud and waiting for those who will claim the body to arrive.

Lightbringer nods to Alexi as they fly silently southward.

"A misspoken word can doom more then a single life. There is a lesson to be had here, and I have not lost it's significance. I burn with a rage that lacks an outlet, that is all."

The large feet of the man land with eerie grace before the Fenrir. He inclines his head.

"Astrid of Fenrir," he pauses a moment, uncertain if there is some ceremony or ritual that she is waiting for. After a second he shrugs and continues with his thoughts. "Thank you for carrying our brother. We will shoulder his weight now."
