"You're doing what?!" The little flame asked incredulously. "You have got to be kidding." Normally, Cineris had a mouth that could make a knocker blush, but right now, he was too flabbergasted even to swear.
"Look, it's not that unusual. She's pregnant with my child, of course I want to get to know her better. It makes sense." Trying his best to be diplomatic, Ulrim was just about spent when it came to dealing with Cineris for the day. Cineris had almost refused to work when Ulrim, normally somber and quiet at his forge, was smiling, and even whistling a bit. This annoyed Cineris to no end.
"Yeah, but you don't have to take her on a date to get to know her... You could just ask her questions." Cineris was pouting a bit.
"Look, old friend, you just have to accept that maybe I want to be close to her. Maybe I want to be happy again."
"She stole your fucking underwear." In spite of himself, Cineris grinned a little bit. It was good to see a little of the old Ulrim returning... Pre-Aislinn Ulrim. Cineris, though, was older and possibly a little wiser than Ulrim, and he knew, for one reason or another, that this little happy period could only last for so long. "Just be careful, Ulrim. Please."
"Thanks, Cineris. I will be."
Ulrim gazed at his newest project with a certain satisfaction. It was strange to feel this happy again. It was strange to enjoy his craft this much. It was foreign and frightening to him, and he didn't know how to react to it... But he hoped it would never go away.
