Morgan leaned on the staff looking off out the window.
Feelings toward the Load Bearers were becoming apparent. Marks-The-Prey was growing on her in a strange way that no lupus had before. He was scary but likable. He shouldered much for our sept with little notice from anyone which was honorable. Alexi was well... an enigma and he deserved much caution. The others were becoming easier to be around even Lightbringer. His pack had made a good case for liking him but the Ahroun himself had said nothing. Morgan felt little trust for him, with him outwardly keeping even the smallest secrets. What were his goals if he couldn't share them? How am I to help you if I can't know what to help with? He was inviting and then cold or did he simply test her restraint from his thoughts. Morgan smiled thinking of Visili. He and Lightbringer were alike in many ways. No one ever stopped to get to know Visili's kindness which surprisingly did exist, as it likely did in the Uktena. She had worried while the Ahroun and his pack were gone and that was telling enough for Morgan. That they meant something, though they probably shouldn't. It reminded her of those last words she'd heard before she left her home sept so many years ago,'Compassion will bring you nothing but pain.' She rarely believed it until now, with Tak all over her every move. If Morgan hadn't shown compassion for Guy Tak wouldn't be a problem, or so one could assume. It was almost worth apologizing so she'd leave Morgan alone. The sheer disrespect and misuse of Tak's position of power was becoming ridiculous. Tak seemed to be trying to push the kin to retaliate and was getting close, too close. The sound of the garou's voice made her angry enough to hit someone. They didn't need to like each other, they just needed to tolerate each other and realize there was a common enemy needing their energy.
Master Chu was going on about Morgan not paying attention but the words were lost to her thoughts. She was quickly brought back when a staff struck her head. Morgan staggered back and grasped her temple feeling the warmth of blood beneath her hand. Chu continued to ramble on about the white man and how useless we were.
Of course it was because I was born to the white man, it always is.
