03/29/11 Ties that bind

[Winston / Tegan]

In a booth in the back room, Darius sat coddling a drink with a distant look in his eye. Never in all his travel had he received a greeting and welcome quite like this caern had given. They had pissed him off, made him feel at home, challenge him to become better, and reminded him what it once was like to work in a pack.

Gah, got to get out of my mind. The war is still raging and things need to be done. Now, what do I need to get movin along? Lets see, I am a little lacking on basic rites and knowledge of the umbra. Alright, need a theurge for that. Could also start actually learning crafting a little better and stop relying on my connection to pull me through. Now, do I know anyone to fit both those categories and save some time?

"Llue," Darius said in a joyous tone. "Now where to find that beautiful man? Oh wait, that's right; I grabbed his number along with Artemisia. Lets see if I can get him down here and start some haggling."

The door to the back room swings open. Llue in all his haggard spenders steps through the door shutting it behind him. He bellies up to the bar and orders a drink, a shot and a beer. Sipping the shot, he allows the flavors to rest in his mouth before swallowing. Washing it down with some of the beer, allowing the flavors to mingle and say hello to his senses. His body visibly relaxes as the mellow alcohol does his thing.

He doesn't seem to notice his cell phone ringing, until the bar tender smacks his shoulder. "Damn Weaver tech," he mutters under his breath as he tries to get his phone to work, "Hello?"

[Winston / Tegan]

"Hey Llue, it is Darius Connolly," Darius replies over the phone. "Ya know, Faerie boy. I was wondering if ya..." After a second, it dawns that Llue's voice was coming not only from the phone, but from the bar. Moving to the end of the booth, he scans the bar for the theurges familiar form.

"... wanted to come down ta the pub and talk. It seems you were reading my mind though and are already here. Be right over." Hanging up the phone, Darius moves over and takes the stool on the right of Llue.

"Man, the rain sure is coming down in bucket today, isn't it?"

Stepping up to the bar across from Llue and Connelly Guy looks at the pair and slowly shakes his head trying hard to suppress a grin, "Seeing you booze hounds roll into my bar makes me worry for the safety of our Caern. The Wyrm could be crawling up your asses and you'd still be drinking." laughing to himself Guy sets out a bottle of whiskey and three glasses.

"You motherless bastards are going to help me finish this bottle... just don't tell Maeve and it's on the house."

[Winston / Tegan]

"Who you calling a booze hound? Artemisia hoops bars on a regular basis. Now hurry up and pour the glass."

Guy laughs and pours the glasses while he asks, "Who's this Artemisia you're flapping your jaw about?"

He blinks a couple times and laughs, "Oh! Mirrors, right. I heard about that. Maeve was pissed she didn't get any warning."

Darius inhales a deep whiff of the whiskey and takes a long drink savoring the burn. "I don't think Mirrors' drinking comes with a warning. It's more a kin to earthquake. No way of predicting that, just got to pick up the pieces after."

With another raise of the glass, he finishes off the fine whiskey and tapes the bar for another fill. "Now, might I purpose to either of you fine men a deal?"

Guy looks at Connelly with an arched eyebrow, "It depends on the deal and if you feel like you can afford it." He shoots his whiskey and quickly refills empty glasses.

"Keep in mind you're still new around here so don't be expecting any discounts for no good reason."

[Winston / Tegan]

"Well, I am not expecting any discounts. Except the one deserved by all Garou fighting the war against the wyrm."

"Now," Darius start as he brings himself upright in his seat. "I have been around a bit. Traveled the state as a Grandchild of Fionn and a bit of the Umbra as well. All in all, I say I have picked all what is needed to be a well rounded. Except maybe one area, mainly concerning spirits and rites."

Feeling the heat rising in his blood from spilling out his own downfalls, Darius quickly downs the next shoot. While the sweet burn trickled down his trout, he tried to calm himself with a deep breath. "So, what I purpose is a trade of good for the benefit of the war against the wyrm I apparently wouldn't noticed crawling up my ass. I could pay, in either work or money, and in return either of you could instruct me in a few basic rites and knowledge of spirits. Now what do you say to that?"

Llue, who's been studying his drink, slams it home and fills up the glass again. "Well, Mickey, I'll happily teach you the basics that every Garou should have learned as a cub for free, and as you get a better handle on what it is you're seen and feeling teach you more. Some are easy and some are hard, and I would only ask that if anybody came to you to learn these lessons that you'd teach them for the same price."
He looks at Guy for a moment, "And if the wyrm DID attack while wewere deep in our cups, I'd trust you to be there to scare it off with that sorry excuse you call a face, you man whore."

Guy throws back his glass and refills is with a grin on his face, "That's right, the Wyrm would run crying with it's tail between it's legs if it interrupted my business. Speaking of man whoring, when was the last time you got horizontal with a lady?"

[Alden J. Blethen]

Llue swigs down the amber liquid with a toss, "Well, it's like my cousin used to say, 'It's not quantity, it's quality.' And it's not like there's a mass of available women in the area, that haven't been tainted by some people cough cough, Vasilli and Guy, cough cough, or that that are up to my high standards." he pours and sips another shot, "Or that have low enough standards for me to slip through."

Sipping his whiskey, Guy looked back at Darius, "You'll have to excuse us, Llue gets jealous when he starts drinking. So if you want a lesson or two on our people's Rites that's fine. Just don't be asking for any fetishes any time soon."

[Winston / Tegan]

"Alright then, it sounds like we are all in accord," he says with a smile. "Now lets have a toast to mark the occasion."
