hit at the end of posts

This has been happening for a while now and I can't seem to be rid of it.

Anytime I make a post the word "hit" tacks itself at the end of the post. Sometimes multiple times, for example if I preview it and then post it 2 will show up.

There will probably be one at the end of this post as well, so, you'll see. Help would be greatly appreciated.

So I'vre looked through all of the code on this site for anything that looks like it might cause a trailing ' hit' at the end of your posts, including the code on your personal profile and all the custom code I've put on the site over the years. THere's nothing jumping out at me.

So there remain several possibilities:

The Profile itself is corrupt on the Proboards servers. It happens rarely. This is out of your control, but I can ask the hosts to reload it or something. Might help, might not.

There is a browser incompatibility, ir some kind of plug-in to your browser causing this. THe easiest way to test this is to use another browser and post with it (ie, firefox, chrome - something besides what you commonly use). See if the result is the same. If it is, it's probably not the browser, if the problem goes away, that's the problem, and it's time to start clearing the web cache, disabling plug ins and seeing what works.

Let me know and I might be able to suggest more.

I had a thought. If the following is the case:

The Profile itself is corrupt on the Proboards servers.

One way to test that would be to create another profile and try posting with it. If that profile also has the ' hit' at the end of it, then you'd also know it was something local to your machine or browser.

So it's apparently a browser issue. I will have Ari tear into it as she is more knowledgeable with browser stuff.

(I really hope I don't have to use IE because of this...)

It's likely a single plug-in on your browser, not the whole browser itself, if that helps. The best way to determine which plug-in might be causing it would be to turn all plug-ins off and then turn them back on one at a time, making a post each time.

If you find out which one is causing the issue, see if there is an update available for that plug-in, as it is probable that you're not the only one using that plug-in having issues stemming from that.
