At the recent ST meeting, we realized that the rules for armor decay were a bit unrealistic. The book says that the armor is either perfectly fine, or it is gone in one hit. The new ruling is that if the damage attack dice is double the armor’s soak rating, then the soak rating goes down by one until some major repairs can take place.
EXAMPLE:
Billy Brujah and Vincent Ventrue are fighting. Billy has on armor with a soak rating of three. Vincent pulls out his knife, mind you Vincent is not that weak, and stabs at Billy and hits. The damage dice that Vincent currently has is 7 (pumped strength to six, plus 1 for the knife). That would be more than double the current soak of Billy’s armor. The armor rating after the damage has been determined but before any other attacks that can occur the armor goes down to a soak rating of two.
