I received this letter from the Grand Harpy, and as directed, I make it public to all-
Harpies of the Camarilla,
As the Voice of the Camarilla, it is my sad duty to inform you all of two terrible betrayals to the Tower within only the last week. The very foundations of our organization are shaking and these turncloaks choose now to air their petty grievances. Unsurprisingly, both of these problems are wolf shaped.
First, and foremost, I must inform everyone of a defection of the highest order. Only this last week, the Justicarate met and, unanimously decided to overlook the past acts of clan Gangrel and their recent Justicar Rhiannon, and grant them a new seat on the Justicarate despite these acts. The Justicarate also unanimously chose a candidate for the post, one who had served the Camarilla since its inception, one whom it was believed could be counted on to the bitter end to be loyal. I speak of the mighty Karsh, Warlord of the Camarilla. Unfortunately when offered the position, this dog threw that offer back in our faces, making the following public statement:
“If your tower will treat the destruction of one of our highest clan elders so lightly, one who has supported your tower for centuries, then your tower deserves all it gets. I refuse to be your shield anymore. See how well the Assamites serve as your new shields. Clan Gangrel is done being treated as your attack dogs.”
Immediately after making this highly inflammatory statement, he turned into a bird and flew away, thus neatly avoiding answering any questions about his statement. From other sources I have now discovered that Karsh has now styled himself Grand Alpha, whatever that means, and is actively encouraging other Gangrel to defect. And most unfortunately his words have reached more than a few in high positions.
Foremost among those to follow Karsh into this insanity has been former Archon and now former King of Texas Logan. Without any apparent steps to maintain what he had worked for, Logan simply abandoned his Kingdom, leaving his individual cities without any oversight, simply declaring that he knew where his loyalties lay and he would stand by his clan and his brothers in this time.
In the wake of these travesties of the highest order, the Justicarate has issued a formal edict, which I now pass on to you all. Effective immediately, clan Gangrel is no longer a part of this Camarilla. They shall never again hold a seat on the Justicarate council, nor shall their voice as a clan be heard on any Camarilla issue. Individual members of clan Gangrel who still wish to remain within the Camarilla shall not have their status affected, but henceforth shall be treated as any member of an independent clan who wishes to forswear that allegiance and join our Sect, just as we would treat a Camarilla member of clan Lasombra or Ravnos. Those former Camarilla members of clan Gangrel who forswear their allegiance to the Tower and follow Karsh into this madness will have all of their standing in the Camarilla removed, effective immediately. Princes of the Camarilla are highly encouraged not to grant Toleration or succor to any of these wretches who wish to pull down all we have worked for and watch it burn.
In line with this decree, effective immediately, the Gangrel known as Karsh and Logan shall lose all of their standing within the Camarilla. Let them feel the consequences of their actions. Further, as the one who began this rebellion in earnest, I name the one known as Karsh formally to be a Turncloak. May that name follow him for the rest of his nights. I also formally name the one known as Logan Dupe, for being the first to follow the Turncloak, throwing everything away that he had worked so long to achieve. May both of them enjoy their new reputations.
I count on all Harpies of the Camarilla to make this message public. Let the Gangrel know the penalties for defection. I would also seriously encourage all Princes of cities that accept a Gangrel Primogen to look into whether these Independents deserve such representation.
In final words I have only this to say. The Gangrel say let us see how well we do without them as shields? I say see how long they last without our protection. I think the dogs have grown to used to the protections of domestic life. See how well they fare in the wild.
Yours in outrage,
Violet Mary, Grand Harpy of the Camarilla
