Our agreement with Madsen.

This document shall exist to ensure the security, rights, and responsibilities owed to the King of the Pacific Northwest and the Barony of Tacoma. This shall be a binding contract between both parties that shall be adhered to in the personae of the roles of King and Baron.

The King of the Pacific Northwest is embodied in the person Hans Madsen. This agreement shall be binding on the office of King and the Word of Hans Madsen. This agreement is binding upon any shall assume the title of King in relation to the Barony of Tacoma.

The Baron of Tacoma is embodied in the person Richter of Clan Tremere. This agreement shall be binding on the office of Baron of Tacoma and the Word of Richter. This agreement is binding upon who shall assume the Title of Baron in Anarch territories South of King County and North of Thurston County, East of the Pacific Ocean and West of the Cascade Mountains.

The King of the Pacific Northwest agrees to the following rights and provisions of the Baron:

The Baron of Tacoma shall administrate their territory as they see fit without interference in regards to both the High and Low Justice. The Baron shall have the Rights of Eldest in accordance with Camarilla Law including that of Progeny, Domain, and Destruction. The Baron shall have the right to establish their own form governance and to resolve internal matters.

The Baron of Tacoma pledges to maintain the security of the Barony of Tacoma and to hold it in readiness for the Need of the King of the Pacific Northwest. The Baron Pledges to Maintain the Masquerade and to ensure that Anarchs of the Barony of Tacoma do not breach the security of the King’s Domain.

Individuals who shall breach the Peace between the Barony of Tacoma and that of the King of the Pacific Northwest’s Holdings shall face the King’s Justice.

As the Baron pledges to secure the King’s Dominion, so the King pledges to maintain the Baron’s Domain from threats external and internal to the Dominion.

The Baron of Tacoma pledges that any who have so offended the King of the Pacific Northwest as to face banishment or the Lextalionis shall find no friend or shelter in the Barony of Tacoma.

The Baron of Tacoma pledges to provide force of arms in matters of security as declared by King Madsen. These matters of security must be declared in the presence of the Baron and a third party.

The Baron of Tacoma pledges to provide free passage to any non-Anarch residing in the King of the Pacific Northwest’s Dominion. This does not extend to providing residency, accommodations, or feeding rights. Passage is defined as a 24-hour period in which a Kindred may enter and then exit a territory without feeding.

The King of the Pacific Northwest pledges that the Barony of Tacoma shall remain an Anarch Territory to be administrated by the Baron of Tacoma. The King further pledges that the King shall not interfere with the internal workings of the Barony of Tacoma including matters of selection of a Baron, passage of Anarchs to and from the Barony, and passage of Anarchs through the remainder of the King of the Pacific Northwest’s holdings. Should the chosen administrators of those areas (Anyone holding a similar title to Baron or Prince) deny passage or free movement to Anarchs that the King of the Pacific Northwest will use means at his disposal to ensure the movement of personnel, goods, and services through the territories claimed by the King of the Pacific Northwest. Passage is defined as 24 hours in which to enter and then exit a given territory with no rights of residence, accommodations, or feeding.

The King of the Pacific Northwest pledges to provide Justice in matters between the King’s Dominion and that of the Barony of Tacoma. The King of the Pacific Northwest pledges to hold a Court of Elders at least once per Gregorian calendar year for disputes between his Dominions to be argued and resolved by the King’s Justice. All petitioners shall be judged equally according to the facts of their case with accommodation to their title and station.

As the Baron supports the rights of the King of the Pacific Northwest the King shall support the rights of the Baron of Tacoma.

This is signed, witnessed, and a done deal. So fuck Luthias and his declarations. He can take it up with the King.

For those who think we've sold out:

No really. Come on by, and I will explain the finer points in a calm and reasoned way if you are so inclined. If you are inclined to do things in a less civilized way I can go that route too... But I'd rather not.

What this get's us:

A shield, a fig leaf. A hall pass through all of Madsen's Domain and allies against incursion from external forces.

What we pay: Soldiers. Madsen will be looking to expand his territory, resolve threats, etc. But if he wants our boys and girls then he needs to declare it to the Baron in front of a witness.

So, yeah. No shady fuckers coming to you and sending you off to your deaths. You will be going out with your friends and allies and lead by Anarchs.

Something else we got: a guarantee to be left the fuck alone.

Do I believe that this agreement will hold up if it gets inconvenient? Probably not. But this is a line in the sand. I'll talk to Johnny Boy about getting it carved in stone.
