Rep and Status
I’m going to start this out very honestly; I’m not one of you. I’m a
Cammie. If that means that you stop reading right now that’s fine.
This is my opinion, nothing more. Feel free to tear it apart if you
want, but that’s not going to shut me up. Then again I’m a Brujah and
staying quiet was never one of our strong suits.
You guys have rep, we have status. It’s basically a different name
for the same thing. Anarchs may value different things than the Cam,
but we both have to earn our names. (Yea I know laugh it up, Cammies
earning their name, I’ll get to that in a minute.) Each one of you
works hard to gain rep. Each rep has a story, and some of them are
damn impressive. There are some people in the Anarchs who are as old
or older than some of our elders, and have been working just as long
on making and maintaining their names. If you’ve worked that hard to
make a name for yourself than I don’t care if you are Cam or Anarch,
you are going to get my respect. Not because of your age or your
position, but because you have earned yourself a name. This may not
apply to everything, I don’t see most Cam members respecting the rep
“Porn Star”, but that works both ways. I don’t expect when I go into
Anarch territory that any of you will respect my status as “Esteemed”,
hell I’m half expecting that if I ever move out of Seattle that I will
lose that status very quickly.
Now I know that a lot of Cam standing is politically based. I got the
status “Esteemed” just because I’ve survived long enough in Seattle
and the elders like me. Actually most of my standing would probably
be laughed at by you guys. I’ve basically done nothing. Then again
I’m young so I have time to truly earn my name. Me aside I’ve known
Cam members who have truly earned their names. I’ve seen people who
gained standing because they saved some high muckity mucks life, or
because they have spent most of their unlife being an enforcer. Than
again most of the people that I’ve heard who have really earned their
standing are Brujah, but maybe I’m just bius. Griz our primogen has
Loyal, Defender, Warrior, and Valorous, having fought at his side I
know he has earned all four of them a thousand times over.
I’m not saying that we have to respect everything about the other, but
there are some things we can all respect. Anyone who has worked hard
to make a name for themselves has my respect. Then again I’m a
Seattleite and we have a saying here. “People come to Seattle for two
reasons: to make a name for themselves or to die.” If you’ve made a
name for yourself it means you haven’t died and that is a huge thing
in my book.
