For those with insufficient attention spans for the paragraphs ahead, suffice it to say that late on Saturday the 22nd, Prince Madison of the Emerald Domain called a clandestine Bloodhunt on Mr. Maltin, formerly his Seneschal. Now go do something else.
Those readers with enough patience to weather the coming journalism may find their curiosity piqued by the unvoiced reason for the Bloodhunt and the revelation that Mr. Maltin delivered himself into the Sheriff’s hands and, at the last, destroyed himself. The truly interested will even be able to discover how Mr. Maltin feels about the Prince that decreed his death.
Frankly, I was surprised at the Elysium goers’ blasé reaction to the news that Mr. Maltin was suddenly gone and his replacement being considered by Prince and Primogen. Their serenity was entirely unruffled by rumors of Mr. Maltin’s death, and I have to wonder if the Emeraldites have been so thoroughly soaked in their own blood over the years that they are unable to distinguish new stains from the old, and can no longer feel when they’ve suffered a grievous wound.
Surely the death of such an accomplished leader as Mr. Maltin can be nothing else; in the brief time he resided here, Mr. Maltin has served the Camarilla and the Emerald Domain as its Harpy, twice as its Seneschal, and as Primogen of his clan whenever he wasn’t doing something else (except for this one time when he held both Primogen and Harpy).
Why did Prince Madison order the death of such a respected Elder, longer in this Domain than four Princes have held Praxis? (This would be a statement of lifespan elsewhere, but in the Emerald Domain it means dodging death for about three years.)
Apparently, Mr. Maltin broke the Tradition of Progeny and the Tradition of Accounting by siring without the Prince’s permission and then failing to instruct his issue in the Traditions and the penalties associated with breaking them. Be sure to keep reading for more on this continually breaking story.
