Readers of the Anarch Soapbox,
It is with regret that effective immediately I am now compelled to step down from my position as your local editor and El Bastardo of Tacoma. I have enjoyed my time here, but now it is time to move on. This city, despite its many qualities, has proved a distraction from the true cause and the march of truth I pursue. I need to get back to basics and start writing again. With that aim, I'll be leaving this area for Ireland to report on the cause in the New Free State.
In my absence, a new Editor will need to be appointed, and a new El Bastardo chosen. To choose the new local Editor, one of the Editors in Chief will be visiting Tacoma soon. As for your new El Bastardo, it is your choice who speaks for you, however I would encourage you to stick with the Soapbox's fine tradition of El Bastardos in this and I hope you listen to the new local Editor. Those interested in the job, or any job with the Soapbox, I would encourage you to start writing and have some samples ready to show the visiting Editor in Chief. I am confident someone with the right skills and a proper crusading mind for truth will step up.
Never fear though, the Soapbox is not closed in your region. Until a new local editor is chosen, I leave all editorial decisions in the capable hands of my second Eric Blakely. This is temporary though as once a new staff of writers are hired, he will be following me to Ireland. I encourage any resident of Tacoma to submit their stories or opinion pieces to the Soapbox for consideration. You may find you have more talent than you imagined.
Perhaps someday I will return to Tacoma. But for now, it will have to continue on without me. Thank you for all this city has given me during my tenure here.
Cliff Waters,
Former Tacoma Editor of the Anarch Soapbox.
