Police were stunned this morning at the news coming out of the press conference called by William Perkins, of Perkins, Perkins and Perkins. The massive law firm announced today that in a spirit of civic duty, they would put the full weight of their firm behind the Seattle Police Department lawyers to defend against the threats of harassment claims currently hobbling the police from acting against the rioters in the city center. For the last week, these rioters, protesting against the gun ban have terrorized our city, blocked traffic, burned and looted, and even attacked and killed innocent civilians. And through it all, the police have stood by, unable to act because of the legal support and litigious threats issued by the rioters.
"It's absolutely disgraceful," said Perkins, Perkins and Perkins spokesperson and Senior Partner Lilli Sung.
"To see our society grind to a halt, law and order held at the mercy of legal terrorism from the very people who are rioting in our streets brings ridicule and disgrace on the legal profession and those lawyers who would aid such actions should be ashamed to do so. We have spoken to City Hall and to the Chief of Police and informed them that the city should take all steps necessary to stop these riots immediately, and that if they do, we will defend the city pro bono with the full resources of our firm. Not only that but we will open our doors to all those who have been harmed in any way by these outrageous riots, and take their cases for damages as well. Perkins, Perkins and Perkins will support this city in any way possible until this crisis is over. We remain committed to the well being of our city."
Ms. Sung went on to ask any who have suffered damage at the hands of these rioters to call the Law Offices of Perkins, Perkins and Perkins to arrange legal counsel.
This is certainly a bright day for the city of Seattle. The Chief of Police has assured a frightened city that with this new legal backing, the SPD will have these riots broken up and the criminals with them arrested shortly.
William Shakespeare once said, "First, kill all the lawyers." Well were he alive today, I think he would make an exception for the lawyers of Perkins, Perkins and Perkins. They are a credit to their profession and show us all that Conscience is not completely dead within the legal profession after all.
