On Saturday, 20 July 2013, an amazing piece of artwork was unveiled for the court of the Emerald Domain. This sculpture of a jade tree is so exquisite that words fail to describe its beauty and its presence. Before it was unveiled, the master artisan, Jonathan Dunsmuir, had an introduction to his work. Here are his words:
Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen.
I am Jonathan Dunsmuir, known in our circles as Johnny-Boy, of Clan Brujah. Many of you have heard of this project, either directly or indirectly. Some have supported it, some have been merely indifferent, and some were concerned. In fact, I believe at least one or two of you may have made sure I was not under mystical influence when the idea for this piece first struck me near the turn of the year.
I would like to directly thank those who have offered financial and other support. I place these in the order I have them noted, not in any particular rank of importance.
My hope is that this will evoke memories of a time when Brujah were not just fighters; they were also philosophers, teachers, and paladins.
Lastly, I would like to dedicate this piece to all those who think of protecting others rather than just themselves. To those who make this world a better place. Take of that as you will.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present: The Tree.

- Thanks to Illeana for her idea and inspiration early on in the process.
- Thanks to all those who answered odd questions about a tree.
- Thanks to Trevor Johansson, Toreador Whip and Lesser Harpy of Berlin for his vital support, as well as to his sire, Johan Grayson, the Harpy of Berlin.
- Thanks to Manix for tracking certain plans and historical journals from the Black Forest.
- Thank you to all who have expressed specific concerns about this project in the past few months.
- Thank you to all of clan Brujah in Seattle for putting up with my work.
- Thanks to Henry Allen Raven, Morris Tobias, Ariel Martin, Malzra Del, and Angela Milliner for financial support.
- A big thanks to Cecilia D’Amore for her assistance in assuring the success of a fundraising auction, as well as for this delightful location to unveil my Tree.
- And finally, I would like to thank Carter and Ariel, who traveled with me through fire and flood to make my vision a reality.
My hope is that this will evoke memories of a time when Brujah were not just fighters; they were also philosophers, teachers, and paladins.
Lastly, I would like to dedicate this piece to all those who think of protecting others rather than just themselves. To those who make this world a better place. Take of that as you will.
