Right. I've been 'earin' this rumor says some stupid ass Anarchs been siding with clan over brothers. Let me set the record straight on why this is a fuckin' dumb idea.
1) Yer fuckin' clans are ran by fuckin' elders. Elders who believe in their own shit being more important then yours. Clans ain't meritocracies. Clans are a collections of ancient motherfuckers that are only interest in two things: their own survival and getting you to do as much of their busywork as possible.
2) Unless you're one of the, what, two? Fuckin' TWO clans that have completely foresworn politics, and I don't mean the so-called 'independent' clans, cus fuck, half of them are gettin' it by the Cam so deep they squeal every time a Justicar flexes. I mean the ACTUALLY independent clans. Unless you're one of them, your so-called family doesn't actually give a shit about you. Even they probably don't give a shit about each other, but at least they've got that isolationist thing going. If you hear 'oh, <insert whiny vagina BS> Brujah always side with Brujah!', they ain't been talking to Sabbat. See, they are cherry-pickin'. Brujah for Brujah! (except Sabbat) Brujah for Brujah is another way of saying the elders know how to manipulate you into doing their shit across sect lines cus they have a better pitch then we do. Shit, maybe they do.
3) I heard it said recently in Tacoma that Clan is like friends you had in grade school and sect is like adult friends. This makes a lotta sense to me. Say you're a Gangrel. Big fuckin' deal, right? Doesn't mean anything other then you have a common parent with another Gangrel. You're a victim of happenstance, and you mighta just as easily been Brujah or Toreador or dead for all it really matters. How the embrace came to you is about as meaningful as what school your parents enrolled you in when you were a kid. Did you have a say in it? No. Did it shape you? Sure. And if you meet, as an adult, a dude that went to your same school, you'd be like "Damn! I did too! What'd you think of Mr. Davidsucksmydick?". But if they asked you take a bullet for em, you'd be like "...No...." See? Now, once you break out of your parent's tutelage and can make decisions for yourself, say you get a friend, how much deeper is that? You have a common belief or passtime that YOU picked. It's more then just random happenstance. It's more then just your parents deciding shit for you. Your adult friends are your sect. Its what you chose for yourself.
4) Coteries/Gangs/Packs are more important then sect. This is a no-no that others won't tell you, but the actual 3-6 people who you'd kill for you are really all that matter. Fuck the Cam, the Sabbat, the Anarchs and the indies, the only people that really give a shit about you are your honest to god allies. And them bitches need to be protected. So if they're all indie? Sign fuckin' up. If they're all Cam? Put on them kneepads and hop too.
5) If you DO think that siding with blood is better then siding with your brothers-in-arms, we don't fuckin' want you anyway. That's some stupid ass shit right there, and you can keep it all to yourself. Selling out Anarchs cus all the Brujah had a meeting and said that all the Brujah in the city had to curbstomp Anarchs... that shit's so... oh my god, that shit pisses me off. You come into an anarch gathering and start spouting about how your precious clan decided that we were a bad influence, expect to get a beating. That degree of ignorance ain't fuckin' welcomed.
6) And the last reason why siding with Clan over Sect is the dumbest idea since boarding a train in Nazi Germany is cus you *should* be a free thinkin' individual who doesn't need fuckin' clan elders doin' their thinking. If your stupid ass clan gets together and decides something that you agree with, tell us, but fuckin' sell it as your own goddamned idea. Just cus someone else had an idea first doesn't mean you can't AGREE of your own will. Just keep that clan shit out, none of us care if all the Toreador decided that Pink is the new Black, but we might give a shit if you start comin' in style.
