The I-90 bridge has been shut down for emergency repairs wrecking commutes throughout the region. The 520 bridge is still closed from extensive damage taken during the storm leaving commuters few options to get into and out of Seattle. The I-90 bridge had previously been certified safe by a city inspector despite public comments about strange noises coming from the bridge structure. The inspector was found dead in his bellevue home two weeks ago. Police are suspecting foul play. When the civil engineering office was asked if this murder was tied to the condition of the bridge they refused to comment.

The planned curfew and military patrols of downtown Seattle have been effectively postponed. The amount of repairs needed in the district, especially compared with the rest of Seattle have necessitated around the clock repair crews throughout the district. The national guard has redirected its focus in the Seattle recovery, not wanting to get in the way of needed repairs. The curfew and military patrols of Fall City have begun on schedule. Community leaders complain that the lockdown would be put to better use in the Lake Union area, which has recently suffered from a spree of lootings and violence.

Don’t forget to see the Seattle benefit concert this weekend. Channel 5 will be giving you live coverage of the event and performances throughout the evening. The highlight of the evening will be Vincent Crane himself, in his first major performance in Seattle. Mr. Crane was inspired by the plight and spirit of Seattle, and it's even rumored that he has a new song planned for the evening. If you are planning to attend the concert itself you are advised to take public transportation in light of recent bridge closures.
