It is so far away but to me seems just like yesterday. I can close my eyes and remember her face that day I met her at the State Fair in Albany. Her favorite yellow dress and strawberry blonde hair. In those days we didn't have a care in the world.
Blood red fog rolls in from the north side of the town. It envelops everyone and I can't see where I am going. Hands pierce the veil of the fog and latch on to me. These hands are familiar to me. They are cold to the touch and lashing me to a chair.
I know what happens next.
The fog evaporates away and I am in my house. Julie and Mary are tied up. The Vampires are torturing them in front of me. I beg them to stop but my cries are muted by a wave of pain that courses across my face. I have never felt such pain before.
A figure in the door commands the other vampires that they have plans for the women but to what ever they want with the left over humans. My wife and daughter are taken away. They turn their attention on to me and every fiber of my being cries out to be able to stop them.
