A small number of players have come to staff citing personal issue with words that were spoken by another player during the closing of this last week's game, while also citing representation of other players. If you don't know what's being referenced, feel free to move along.
If you are concerned with this specific issue, it is this staff's personal and professional feelings that any and all complaint-and-resolution is handled privately to avoid further complications that can turn a issue into something quite more caustic. Moreover, insult in a social setting can turn an otherwise cohesive community against one another as a degree of offense changes to peer pressure to feel offended.
In this instance, staff has responded to this issue privately -- respecting both those who have brought their specific issues to staff and those who have mistakenly offended others. There is no ill will from members of staff towards any party involved and trust that each will purport themselves both responsibly and respectfully.
We would prefer that this issue wait until the election of Player Advocates, however the insistence of aggrieved parties has pushed to swift resolution with the conclusion of this post.
With that said, as has already been posted, the player base will be volunteering at the close of game this week and a mere two weeks later voting on your Player Advocates who will field this sort of issue in the future, for the very least of reasons to remove any potential staff bias on rulings and ensuring that players are representing other players and not advocating for something less forthright.
We encourage any who feel that they can represent the player base without bias or prejudice while keeping the privacy we as a staff have pledged to maintain this coming week (8/30) with voting the following week (9/6). If you cannot be present for either portion, you are welcome to email your candidacy and votes to staff and we will include it in the Player Advocate elections.
We now gladly return you to the expected dreariness of historical Seattle.
