(ooc: I'm sorry if I got people's names wrong or forgot about them or their actions. This is a retelling to the best of my memory.)
“Have you ever played poker before?” he says with a genuine smile. Worn and slightly stained green felt covers the table they are gathered around. The air is warm with the pleasing scent of campfires at dusk, you could almost pretend that it’s not the odor of the destroyed city around them.
The sound of shuffling cards fills the area as The Professor makes introductions. “I am Professor Sylvester Argent and this will be a game of five card draw.” The high lady from Denver frowns and says “I however don’t have any money on me” a sentiment echoed by the others sitting around the table, Septemus, Sam, Christos, and (ooc: the name escapes me sorry).
Only with a second of silence in the air Argent says “Well since you’re new to town let me welcome you all with ten dollars so we all can have a fun game.” While saying this the lady from Denver has caught her Prince’s ear and whispers something to which he shrugs and then drops a bag onto the table with a solid force. In his loud and bestial voice the Prince declares “Ten thousand silver should be enough.” Then strolls away.
Bets are place and cards start to be dealt out. Pleasant conversation all around, where people are from and why they have come to the city. Christos who had been only watching the game mentioned it was getting late and he was going to be off. His night has been rough, speaking only Spanish in a room full of English speakers. Then Wicked, the Caitiff walks up. Conversations slide to a halt and with a warm smile Professor Argent says “Welcome sir, feel free to join us for some poker. The buy in is ten dollars.”
The caitiff pulls out a small handful of wadded up Rubles and places them on the table “I only have Russian currency.” The large Septemus offers “I can verify the value if you need.” With a smile The Professor deftly switches the paper for chips. “No need dear Sir, I am also familiar with the foreign currency. Sit down good man, next ante is up.” However most of the other table patrons felt there need to be elsewhere and shortly after that Prince Orleans made his announcement for the Lasombra Christos fetching. The game was over then.
