I was so nervous upon enterin' the vimpire's meetin' place. I din't really even know what I was doin' there, other than that I hadn't been able ta locate Miss Madeleine anywhere else, and if she wun't in this place, i wun't gonna find her no place t'all, but I would need new blood to keep young. I would jus do what I did best: stand next ta wall n' look purtty, and hope it bring in the right prospect.
When I first entered the room, I couldnt help but notice the cute lil Asian girl sittin' alone at one-a the tables. I wanted to go up to her and see if she'd be interested... but without my mistress, I didn' know what I could offer. So I walkt round the room, lookin for a familia face... and while I did see some, there was no one I'd feel comfortable talking ta, let alone Madeline.
I rested against a wall... and as usual, it wun't long fore a gentleman approached. He was kindly and charmin; he offered ta help me out if I should need anythin'. Couldn't help but chuckle at the offer, but as badly as I needed, I didn't want ta settle; it would be good offer ta fall back on. Another gentlemen joined the conversation, Scottish from what I could tell. The Scotsman wanted ta know bout the fire, but neither of us had a clue.
Then another gentleman came along, who was later revealed as the Harpy. He suggested we follow him ta the platform where the Prince's throne was. I hesitated at the edge of the platform. Somethin inside told me it was a bad idea. Master Harpy was charmin and flatterin, but there was somethin wrong about the way he talked, the twinkle in his eye. Mischief, it said. The poor Scotsman fell for his game and took a seat in the Prince's throne, just in time for the Prince ta return.
The Scotsman was brandished in front of everyone for fallin prey ta the Harpy's game and was told ta run fast as he could out of the meetin place. I wanted ta say somethin; blame the Harpy for the fella's predicament, but... wunt exactly in a position ta back-talk a vampire.
I made acquaintances with some-a the vampires belongin ta Miss Madeline's clan, and asked around, but no one had seen or heard from her. Was at that point, I lost my hope; I slumped back against the wall.
A gentleman caught my eye. I'd seen glimpses-a him, circlin the room; like he was lookin for somethin... or waitin for somethin ta happen. Well, ifn Miss Madeline had met her end, I would need to find me a new Mistress... or, perhaps, a new Masseur.
I called out to him, asked if he was lookin for somethin particular. Used to askin that kinda question to gents who are too shy to ask for my services outright.
His name was Vincent Boudreaux. He was slightly pompous, but very handsome; I felt comfortable round him immediately. He is the one who will be taking Miss Madeline's place. He is lookin ta open a brothel in town, and I offered my services in exchange for his. This, I believe, will work out profitably for the both-a us.
Wunt long afta our dealin's that I was handed a slip-a paper mentionin a missing train conductor and a not-right-ness happenin in the downtown area. It had a symbol at the bottom that was explained to be the symbol-a the tremere clan, like the Scottish doctor-character who'd offered me his services just before I'd talked ta Mister Vincent.
We asked him about the note, and fore I knew it, we were headed ta a creepy spot downtown where all the rail lines came together. Animals were runnin out-a one of the tunnels, and despite that bein a bad sign where I'm from, that's the way we headed.
The tunnel was dark as pitch; I had ta feel my way along the wall until the Doctor-gentleman was kind enough to light a lamp.
There was a rock fall in the tunnel that looked like it'd been caused by a nasty vampire fight, bein that one-a their legs was found severed from its body.
Then there was a tappin beyond the rocks. We all buckled down to move boulders, and behind it, we found a very frail-lookin man; the conductor... and two vampire corpses.
The man informed us that the slide hadn't been caused by a quake, but what sounded more like rock crashin into more rock.
We found the boulder, and the doctor said that it had ta have been launched from up the hill, but we didn't want ta leave the kindred bodies unattended. I offered to stay while they traipsed up the hill to see where the rock had come from... and so here I am... waitin for them to get back.
