(Many others have done things and many dealings were done over these years. If your character’s path crossed any of these moments or help/hindered mine please let me know and we can add or at the very least work out backgrounds -Cory)
Time flies it seems and twice as fast when you live only at night. So many gatherings public and private. While many things went on in this time only so many were documented.
1907 to 1914
While always at court and never missing an event (Unless called away by the Prince of Virginia City) He was known and a little bit of a rule bender or lay-about he never really had a moment to shine. He was always willing to help set up new vampires to the area, always saying “Welcome to Seattle, first favor is always free. I want to see the city thrive.”
1914 to 1920
When The Great War descended on the world, Professor Sylvester Argent almost lost his mind. So much pointless violence around the world in the years of 1914 to 1920 he was sure it was going to be the end of the world. As a long time advocate of the equality of all it shook him bad.
He was one of the vampires who turned a large portion of their wealth to help keep the pain of war rationing from being felt by the court of Seattle. These actions did not go unnoticed by the court.
1920 to 1931
Prohibition either made people filthy rich or just filthy. The Professor was lucky enough to be the former. He has already small clubs throughout the city that would in time be known as speakeasies. Most of them he had used for wealthy gambling halls, it wasn't hard to contract for some higher quality liquor to be smuggled in from Canada and elsewhere with shipping connections.
1931 to 1941
The depression hit Seattle hard. Many residents were forced to live in places nicknamed Hoovervilles. Shanty towns that contained men from ages 18 to 60. The government failed them and after burning their city to the ground twice the government finally allowed them to stay… for a time.
The largest of these was located on a 9 acre plot of land just south of Seattle. The city lasted from 1931 to 1941. They had an elected government of sorts and even had a mayor by the name of Jesse Jackson, Mr. Jackson in turned belonged to a member of Seattle’s court one Professor Sylvester Argent.
These Hoovervilles were almost heaven for most of the vampiric community during these hard times. Professor Argent who was already well known for his love of languages and chain of theaters around the city offered Prince Orleans to oversee this resources making sure that this great resource would thrive for as long as possible while not letting it rot from within.
For that decade this was the Professors task and he saw to it personally.
This was a busy era for the Professor for at the social gatherings he would always offer quietly to help out any kindred who felt the pinch of the depression that was raging across the country. Those in need he aided without asking for any reward. When asked why he would say “I love this city like no other, for it to thrive we all must thrive.”
1942 to Current
From 1941 with the disbanding of his Hooverville to Feburary 1942 The Professor’s life went on without notice but the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the witch hunt for Japanese-American he once again used his wealth and network to help the mortals. Any Japanese family that went to any of his theaters were taken and hid in various hiding locations around the city and the surrounding towns. The act of the country had made him angry ranting as anyone who would listen about the shortsightedness of it. “Let’s not follow the folly of the once noble German people, who have been led astray. Is it not our job to rise above this”
The act of this caused him to draw attention of the city police and even drew almost too much attention for the masquerade. Many stern warning were given to him and more than one Boon was called in for favors. As the war comes to the close at the start of the Gala his resources are stretched thin and for a generally jovial person the edges are starting to fray.
