1945 to 1946
When the last Japanese Internment camp closed Argent returns the people he was helping to their homes or what’s ever left. The ones that had their land stolen or destroyed he does his best to help out. No matter how helpful he is or how much he gives, no one ever thanks him.
1947 to 1956
When news of Jackie Robinson joining the Major League Baseball Prof. Argent shows the front page article around court politely saying “The equality of the races is starting. This is important”
When the McCarthy hearings began, The Professor warns anyone who will listen to him why this is so bad and what it means for kindred. Most kindred of any reasonable intelligence don’t need to be warned.
In 1947 the first ten men called before the House Un-American Activities Committee cited the first amendment guarantee of free speech and free assembly, they were found in contempt of congress and got anywhere from six months to a year in prison. This is just another start of a dark period in the history of America.
When the Second Red Scare starts rolling everyone was looking for spies. This is the time the term McCarthyism was born. In the end it became known to mean making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence.
During this time laws were passed that were later determined to be unconstitutional. However the damage had been done. As many as twelve thousand people lost their jobs. Many kindred were caught in this net and had to change identities losing money and influence. Only years later it comes out that McCarthy was just the face man for the real threat of J. Edgar Hoover.

Hearing word that Seattle will be hosting the world’s fair in 1962 Prof. Argent starts funding various contractors and has a “friend” on the Pentacle corporation’s board of directors. Otherwise he focuses on expanding his chain of movie theaters and hidden casinos.
