OOC This post is in the point of view of The Professor Sylvester Argent and as close to how it went down as I can recall. Please pardon any errors.
IC:
The Professor sits down at the empty poker table. Cursing the car service for dropping him so far away and making him walk to the event. Protest or no, being two hours late is disgraceful. On the other hand walking up after the room had been lit on fire and forced almost everyone to flee could have been less than ideal.
Looking over the room while pulling out his antique chip set and sitting at the table looking over the crowd thinking this might not the be the best time for a game of chance he could see The Harpy Mathias walking straight for his table.
Argent’s beast squealed a little as he ran through a lists of rules and things of poor taste he might have done or at least seem to as he smiled to The Harpy as he sat down. “What did I screw up? I was invited by the host to play poker so it’s not that again, maybe it’s because I’m late. Oh I hate being late to any event, am I being too quiet? I don’t want to talk too…”
“Do you know what a Chancellor is?” The Harpy asks breaking the inner rambling of the Gangrel. The Professor thinks for a moment and replies “If I recall in older times they were the accountant of Boons.” The Harpy nods and continues “You’re The Chancellor. Be subtle about it and don’t make it a big deal. When people come to me I’ll direct them to you Chancellor.”
The inside of Argent’s mind is silent as the shock of being awarded with this position was the last thing on his list of outcomes. “Thank you Sir, I will do my best.” The Harpy nods just as a member of the city comes up to the table to speak to The Harpy about a matter of Boons. With a barest twitch of a smile or at least Argent thinks it’s a smile The Harpy says motioning to The Professor “The Chancellor will be able to help you with that.”
