When Echo entered into the quaint art gallery, there were no trumpets to harold her arrival... she would have to speak with someone about that. And no one came to greet her immediately either.
Though it wasn't long before a rather good-looking man approached Echo. His name was Vincent. He commented on all her sparkles. Echo knew she had worn them for a reason.
Another man came up to us. He was not as good-looking as Vincent and introduced himself as Avalon. When Echo introduced herself, the new man said that his ghoul was also named Echo.
No.
She is wrong.
Echo is Echo.
Echo would call her "ghoul" until a more appropriate name could be found for her.
That was about when the fancy man who had been standing next to the fancy chair walked by. Echo knew she had to have the Prince's permission to be safe in the city, and she assumed the fancy chair belonged to the Prince. That was ok because it was a very boring chair; it didn't sparkle. But if the man had been standing next to the chair, that meant he must be familiar with the Prince.
She inquired of the man how to get the Prince's permission to be in the city, and the man was very kind and offered to introduce her, saying it was no more than a minor inconvenience... whatever that meant.
The Prince was very rude. He questioned Echo's claim to her asylum, and how she could be queen of her asylum if it was in HIS city... the nice man whispered in the Prince's ear about how Echo must just be confused, and how there were no others of Echo's clan... the Prince said he didn't like Echo. That's ok. The Prince is just mistaken. His mind will change.
The nice man then took Echo to meet important people she would have to know if she were to be "officially" in charge of the Malkavian clan... because apparently, Echo would need approval or permission.
The first gentleman Echo met was the leader of the Brujah, Thomas Euler PhD. He was an interesting gentleman, and he shared Echo's interest in psychology. It made Echo happy to impart her knowledge. Dr. Euler, however, was called away on some clan business, and she went to find the nice-man again.
Echo was then introduced to a Walter Eddington. He was the Nosferatu leader. He was a little clipped, though the lady who sat beside him was very thought-provoking. She challenged Echo intellectually; it was nice.
Then Eddington asked Echo to "excuse them" so they could take care of business. That did not make Echo happy... but she left. But she was quickly pulled aside by another Nosferatu, a miss Clementine. Echo liked Clementine. The lady said there was something up and coming about Echo; that Echo sparkled. But then the riots grew closer and louder and scared the nice lady off. Echo hopes to have another opportunity to speak with Clementine later.
In a desperate attempt to quiet the herd outside, the Prince began to throw domain at the kindred who would help stop the riots. He called Echo "princess" in his request for her to help. See! Echo knew his mind would change. So Echo, Vincent, Avalon, two other vampires, and the ghouls went to cover a masquerade breech in the midst of the riots.
We rode in Vincent's limo, which, despite the amount of people, was very spacious and comfortable.
There were bodies littered all over the lawn of the very nice house we pulled up to. Echo used her enhanced senses to see the entirety of the damage... it really was sad how badly the lawn had been torn up. It would have been a really nice house...
Then, one of the others mentioned that there were kindred bodies littered among the humans, and that the humans had been drained dry of their blood. What a waste. There were also two shrubs that gave off undead auras, according to Avalon... he ordered "ghoul" and i to find shovels. Echo doesn't take orders, but "ghoul" was a good ghoul and did as she was told.
Vincent and Avalon staked the kindred bodies, then gathered them and put them in the trunk of the limousine... then they woke one of them up.
There was something that had the two gentleman enamored. One of the other vampires, her name was London, pulled Echo aside and told her that the vampire was using a power. So, Echo tried to go to see what the vampire wanted.
Echo thought he was a very interesting gentleman. She wanted to know more about him. In order to do that, he would need to be untied. But there was something wrong... in what he was saying, in what London had warned... it didn't seem right.
And then it was gone; the feeling that the vampire was anything more than a slimy one of her kind... the problem was that neither of the men seemed to see it! Echo moved to Vincent and placed her hand on his chest... batted her eyelashes and gave him a sweet smile. Echo told him to not trust the other vampire. There was a flash, and Vincent returned to his senses. He reached over Echo and shot the bad vampire in the head, spraying the rest of us with blood. Echo tasted it, but it was yucky. Vincent disposed of the other vampires in the trunk, spraying more blood all over us. London began to throw a tantrum about how she was dirty... so Echo found a hose on the side of the building and sprayed London off. Then there was a new tantrum about how she was wet. No winning, just being obnoxious.
Vincent offered a shower back at his club which he drove us to after the gangrel who had been hidden in the shrubs crawled out and hinted at the house belonging to the Prince and how the Prince had created his own masquerade breech. Echo might hold onto that information for later... should it be needed.
Vincent, being the gentleman that he is, called us a ride to his club where he offered new clothing to the distraught London. She and her counterpart then left, and Vincent offered Echo a drink from his herd... then offered a drink spiked with some coke. Echo had never had coke before. The experience was interesting, and lots of fun... leading to a very active evening, and staying at Vincent's until next sundown while Echo's clothing got cleaned...
