Reporter: “Hi, I’m Guy Meyers, here on the scene at a local Social Services building in Downtown Seattle, where it looks like there is a gathering of individuals making demands of the office. Joining me to help fill us in is Bishop John Rutter, Bishop, what brings you down here today?"
Bishop: “Legalized Marijuana, illegal drug and alcohol abuse, the hungry, the homeless, this is what has brought my Branch out here this day.”
Reporter: “Please, can you explain a little more?”
Bishop: “We are here to demand that these things get addressed. It has become obvious to us that this previously thought under staffed, and under paid department was over worked and stretched to the breaking point. Until, at last week’s services we heard a disturbing amount of parents had been harassed about their children, and the activities of the Kid Scouts of America.
Reporter: “Some kids were/are believed to be making weapons and talk of monsters, and sneaking out at night.”
Bishop: ”Making weapons… like in the archery classes they have?, Like the time honored Swiss Army knife they work so hard to earn? Kids talking about “monsters” is weird? Where are these kids sneaking out from? No one is talking about kids sneaking out, they teach kids the skills they need to grow and become responsible youth.
Reporter: “The Skipp..”
Bishop: “A homeless man, a “Youth Pastor” a crazy man. You know who helps the homeless?, you know who feeds them? Has clothing and blanket drives for them?....The Kid Scouts of America. Look (The Bishop points at a rundown building at the end of the block.) do you know what that is?”
Reporter: “Tha….”
Bishop: “That’s where homeless veterans sleep, they fight over floor space. I can see *pauses, visibly counting* 9 homeless people. That one, that poor man over there is missing a leg. Why aren’t we helping these people?”
Reporter: “So how can we help?”
Bishop: “Ask questions, what are these people doing? What are we paying for? Let them know what we expect of them.”
Reporter: “What response have you received so far?”
Bishop: “We’ve been in line all morning, and it seem all of the employees are ‘in the field’, but were patient we can wait.”
Reporter: “Thank you Bishop Rutter, that’s the word on the street, back to you Aaron."
