Hi folks.
The vast majority of you, know me. Some of you don't, and I will try to not hold that against you. My name is Michael Lohmann. I have been attending ECC since I was 21 years old. I left the state, came back to ECC, left the state, Came back to ECC.... and again. In all the on and off again years I have been apart of this game and community, one thing has always stayed the same.
My love for it and the people that are apart of it.
A lot has changed, over the years. Most recently, the game has gone through a major reset. An extreme makeover, no just in the way we run the game, but the style of the game and website alike. A lot of hard work has gone into recreating the ECC game we have all come to love and care about, and I will state with no additions to be made... the current staff has done a wonderful job, hands down. They helped save a dead game, and created a new one in it's place that has brought us all back to what we love most. A world of darkness. I thank them for their efforts and success, and will never forget the time and energy they put into it.
This election is not like the last one. In the last election, it was four candidates (I was one of them), all trying to pick up the pieces of what was left of game and our player base, and wanting to repair it. I stepped down, with the direct reason of helping Rob to win. I believed in what he was capable of doing, with the game. He has proven he could breath life into a dead ECC Sphere, before, and I was certain he could do it again. However, I stepped down with the intention of being apart of the current staff.
Things, obviously, did not go as intended. The reasons are neither here, nor there.
I spent the year, as a player. Watching other players. Watching the staff. Listening to both player complaints, and staff complaints. I collected a lot of information, with the intention of figuring out what the next level was, and what happened to cause the tremendous drop off that we had, within the first two months. I wanted to fix those issues, to keep the game growing. Keep the game expanding.
I know that I am more than capable of providing the game with a year of wonderful stories, adventure, IN GAME drama, and strife. I have been a story teller in various other games and systems, with the longest running game being 4 years as staff. I have a passion for this game, and it's player base. I believe in equality and fairness, across the board. I believe in keeping everything important out in the open, for all to see, and reaching out to the players to get ideas to go with my own ideas, on how to make the game even more fun and enjoyable.
I do not have a list of assistant storytellers available to view. I believe that when you vote, you do not vote for the group that you want to run the game. I believe you vote for the person you think can best run things and make is grow, and you trust that person to bring in the right people to compliment them and the desires of the playerbase. I am happy to have people come to me privately, if they wish to be on board, and I will consider and evaluate them as potential assistant storytellers.
The point I want to be made perfectly clear, is this. I am not running, so that there is competition for the position. I do not believe in that. I am running, because this is a desire I have had for a long time, and know that I can do the job very well. I hope that you all will believe the same.
Thanks for reading. See you at game and elections.
