Hi guys! What a wonderful and intense game, last night was. A lot of dramatic moments, and extreme tension. It was a juicy night, with so many far reaching ramifications. I loved it all.
After game, and during the week, players asked me primarily about three things. I love that players are not afraid of asking questions or raising concerns, thus far, for the two candidates for HST. Thanks!
There is a misconception, and perhaps the wording is to blame. Some think this means that I do not intend on ever saying "no". That is COMPLETELY inaccurate.
I fully understand that in the interest of game balance, some things just cannot and will not happen again. The game being flood with custom disciplines/combo disciplines, flooded with magic, flooded uncommon or rare bloodlines/clans of vampires is NOT something I ever wish to go back to. There will always be room for negotiations, but ultimately if myself and my staff feels that something would be unbalancing or detrimental to the the structural integrity and foundations of the game... it will be asked to go back to the drawing board or declined if no compromise can be come to, with extensive reasoning provided. There will be no "waiting list" for unique bloodlines that don't belong in a Camarilla game. Magic will not be flooding back into the game.
What it DOES mean, is if it is reasonable... even if pushing the boundaries of what that word means, then it will be considered. The closer you get to that boundary of what is and is not reasonable, the most dangerous and character risking it will be. Even if not the immediate risk may or may not be great, that does not mean the player is in the clear. Reaching for the stars, in WoD, is a very dangerous thing and can drawn unwanted or unexpected events to be triggered.
Another question brought up, was what is my stance on recruitment or why did I not bring it up?
The answer to that, is simple. I did not bring it up, not because I do not fee it is important. I did not bring it up because it is a thing that for the most part will solve itself. Numbers will always fluctuate, and you can do as many recruitment drives as you want. You may gain some interest, but simply gaining that interest isn't enough to keep a player.
Our community makes players feel extremely welcomed, from what I have seen, so no work needs to be done there. A small percentage is they were not intending to stay, in the first place. Another small percentage of that is individuals that just can no longer commit to the game due to real life restraints. The largest reason a player will leave or stay, is usually how they feel about how the game is running or the individuals running it. Sometimes they feel mishandled, or feel like they are the way the game is being running is not fitting to what they want from a WoD LARP. I feel that a lot of that can be helped, but I understand that no matter how hard we try... we cannot please everyone. But if we solve a lot of that, as a staff, recruitment will solve itself. Word of mouth will travel faster and further. I fully hope and partially expect some of the players that started this reset with us and have left, to return once my platform gets going, and more new blood will come over the coarse of my term, and I plan that myself and my staff will set the stage for players numbers to increase and increase long after we are gone.
Player recruitment drives will happen. I feel that even saying such, isn't necessary. Every staff has driven, and should have been driving, to bring in new players. That is just a part of what it means to be staff. To make this game as lively and buzzing as possible.
And finally.... who are my ASTs?
I am super excited about the crew I have, and Monday I will officially announce them, and speak about each of them a little bit to explain to the player base why I chose them.
Stay tuned!

While I do not believe that the word NO should actually exist in staff vocabulary, after Rob's initial staff/rebuild, understand that this is a world of darkness. Reaching out into the darkness, grasping for shiny things can be extremely dangerous, damaging, or even deadly. There will always be reward, but the risk will almost always be FAR greater than the reward.
