The five gruesome murders that occurred late Friday afternoon have been traced to Dr. Evangelos "Evan" Metaxas, a surgeon at St. Jude's Children's Hospital, says Sgt. Dick Dinsley of the SPD. The beloved surgeon, who has saved many children's lives and is a fixture of the St. Jude's community, was caught on a security camera across the street from the crime scene escaping the victim's apartment while covered in blood. The Police are currently investigating his whereabouts.
The victims were Mark and Julie Weinberger, natives of Seattle who were living in the Queen Anne neighborhood, Han and Rosalie Kim, immigrants from Korea who were living in Portage Bay, and Veronica Jackson, a woman who had been living with her brother, Anthony, and sister-in-law, Monique, in Pioneer Square. "The victims all had children who were patients of Dr. Metaxas," Sgt. Dinsley told the Herald, "and all of those children had life threatening issues and did not survive surgery. We're not sure why he suddenly snapped and murdered their parents. We are going to focus on catching him now, and the answers will come later."
Jackson's brother, Anthony, had more to say. "When [Jackson's daughter] Allegra died, [Jackson] thought it was the doctor's fault. Everybody was telling her he was the best doctor ever, that if anyone could save Allegra, it would be him. They were wrong, and they were wrong about him even being a good doctor - the guy's [insane.] I hope they kill [him] for what he did to my sister and my niece."
Alison Christensen, a nurse at St. Jude's, had another opinion. "I can't believe this is happening. Nobody believed in being a Doctor - like, really being a doctor - like Evan did. He was such a great guy, he loved the kids and he loved everybody he worked with, and he really cared. He's a real good guy, I really can't think of anything bad to say about him, and I've known him for years...I don't know how this happened."
The Seattle Police asks that all in the Seattle metropolitan area keep a look out for Metaxas, and report any sighting of him immediately. He is presumed to be armed and dangerous.
