Hey, all! Gavin here, your new HST.
First of all, I wanted to thank Jason for a really awesome election season. He ran a fantastic election campaign, and while I'm jazzed that I get to tell the story I was hoping to tell, I also wanted to say that, had I lost, I wouldn't have been able to bring myself to be too disappointed, since I know he'd run a fantastic story. He did an awesome job finishing out Cookie's run, too, so many thanks to him... and to Cookie, too, for running as long as she was able.
Second of all: next Saturday will be a transitional week. Jason will be leading us in a discussion of rules, to get feedback on some houserule adjustments. If you're not much of a rules person, you're still welcome -- your feedback is just as important as non-rules persons. We want to have things make sense to you guys, as much as possible.
That won't take up the whole session, though. After that, I'd like to take time to let my staff talk to every player. We can do character generation for those making new characters, as well as discussing backgrounds and getting some preludes in, too. It won't be completely without RP, but it will be quite light.
If you can't make it next week, or if you'd rather not come with such an RP-light session, I understand. Please let me know, because I'd like to discuss your character with you, to make sure they have some hooks into what's going on. I want to help every player get connected into the new setting. So if you won't be there next week, come contact me, so we can make alternative arrangements to talk.
Lastly, I wanted to thank you all for giving me this opportunity to help tell this story that's been burning a hole in my brain the last 20 or so years -- but I haven't been able to see how it plays out, because I needed all of you there to tell me how it goes. All of us together will continue to make this a fabulous game, and I look forward to seeing what each of you brings to the table.
