A letter on the door step

It is around one in the morning when you hear a knock on the door to your haven, upon opening it, there is an attractive looking ghoul standing there; they don't seem to be either male or female. Their pale blond hair tied back with a large red ribbon tied into a flower shape. A red collared shirt and a black vest accented by a white tie, and long black cleanly pressed trousers. Bowing low and presenting a black envelope to you on the front in sliver writing is your full name. When you look up the ghoul is gone.

For some, Havens were difficult to track down. The best anyone knew from rumor was that Augustine Rhodes often visited home's for war veterans, homeless shelters, bus depots, and public restrooms. It took the Primogen's Retainer a good three nights to track down anything close to a last known address for the Gangrel. It likely took a lot of canvassing the homeless to find him. Lately he had been held up in a church that offered cheap rooms in the basement. He often didn't stay long, but he was impressed by the Retainer's resourcefulness.

Accepting the black envelope, he said nothing to the Retainer but nodded his appreciation. Once the door was shut, Rhodes took his time producing a blade from along his waist and cutting open the beautifully made correspondence.

Oh, how the Camarilla loved their formality..

Rhodes paced a little in the small confines of the vacant church bedroom. All his worldly possessions were there on the cot. It was his last night here, time to move on. The sexually questionable Retainer had caught him on a lucky night. He took the time to decipher the calligraphy and rolled his tongue around the inside of his cheek. The message didn't apply to him, but what the Retainer that delivered the message did. It wasn't someone he recognized.

Tossing the note out on the cot, Rhodes quickly grabbed his coat and threw it on. He stormed out of the bedroom and made his way back up the stairs. The door would lock automatically behind him. It wouldn't take him long to get a good lead on the Retainer. No man, woman, childe, or beast can evade his tracking. If they had a Beast, which Retainers will, he can find them in a hurry. Running out onto the street, Rhodes drew up the hood of his sleeveless coat and followed the Retainer in pursuit..

The ghoul was leaning against a wall out side a bar nonchalantly smoking a cigarette, there is another envelope stick out of its jacket pocket. the letters "ony" are visible in silver writing "Sending me on errands, like im some postal service?" its' voice hissed into the cigarette. "oh well, at least its better that working for the old man. At least I get to see Seattle and get to wear normal clothes." It took a long drag, then exhaled slowly. "I hate tracking Gangrels....slippery little dogs never staying still." another drag. "At least the rest of the clans are easy to find. Malks: Follow the screaming. Ventrue: Find a big business and ask for them. Nos: Check dark alleys or tech centers. Roses: Check art galleries. Teremre: Find the Chantry. Giovanni: Check the phone book, or ask around in the black markets." Another drag. "But Gangrel?? Better check if the sun is in the correct house of Ra. Also, Did it rain recently? Or, Is there a wolf pack passing in the woods at this time of year?" A heavy sigh resonated from its chest. "Back to work I guess. She'll have my head if I don't get these out tonight." Snuffing out the cigarette under the sole of its shoe it turned from the bar and headed down the street.

The scent of cigarette caught his attention. The breeze was helpful, but it was his preternatural abilities toward tracking that helped him the most tonight. Finding urgency, Rhodes moved thru the alleys and scrambled over fences and dumpsters alike to get ahead of his prey. Landing in a roll, the Gangrel was back up and running into a sprint.

Once in a position he felt confident with, Rhodes slowed his pace into a prowl.

Edging toward the mouth of the alley, he glanced around the corner and made certain the Retainer would be intercepted. He breathed in to steady his nerves and settled his gaze out on the street near them. They would be alone. As the Retainer walked past the mouth of the alley, he called out to them. "A moment of your time, ..if you would please." He requested, as politely as he could muster.

"I was wondering to whom you belong?" He asked, the hood rising so his eyes settled within the Retainers. Clearly, he was the Gangrel that they were just speaking about. The same Gangrel they had just delivered the letter to.

The ghoul stopped not turning to look at him, "Collectively, the Primogen Counsel. Formally, The Toreador Primogen. Is that an issue, Sir?" They continued to stare down the street not letting any of the passersby key into the fact that they were talking to a stranger in the shadows.

Tightening his eyes, he huffed beneath the hood. "No." He answered, searching his feeling. There was still he had a lot to consider when it came to the Camarilla. He had the answer he was looking for, but it wasn't what he wanted to hear.

Rhodes was known for treating Retainers with respect. They were the favored tools of the damned. They were walking breaches of the Masquerade, every one of them.

"Thank you for your time. I won't keep you from your duties any further." He announced, bowing his head respectfully. Calmly, the predator turned to make his way back down the alley. He would find his way back to the church again. His business was with a different Toreador, now.
