We received 22 responses, which is pretty good. Here are the results.
How would you rate the *canon* aspects of game (I.E. Is this game representative of what the books say)?
We did pretty good on this question. 28.6% said we were 50/50, 61.9% said that we are mostly accurate and 9.5% said very accurate. We strive to stay close to canon, while still creating opportunities for fun - and it looks like we’ve largely captured that here.
What sorts of plots are your MOST favorite plots? What sorts of plots are your LEAST favorite plots?
The top contenders here are personal horror at 45.5% and investigative at 27.7% of the responses for the favorite plots. For the least favorite plots are other at 40.9% and fighting the bad guys at 36.5%. The write-ins for other varied greatly between non-canon plots, to political plots, to NPC theatre plots. We do have a few things to work on here, but it was great feedback.
How would you rate the difficulty of this game from an in-character perspective?
The answer to this one I actually found slightly concerning. 9.5% said that they found it easy, 47.6% claimed average, 38.1% said hard and 4.8% was legendary. While the largest percentage was average, there is still a significant portion that stated the difficulty was hard. While it shouldn’t be easy, a large portion should not feel like they are playing the game on hard mode. I will have to think about this, so we can have more appropriate numbers in the future.
How much do you agree with the current staff's view of restrictions?
We did fairly well in this category as well. 47.6% said 50/50, and 33.3% said mostly accurate. We will be reviewing our restrictions, but I do not foresee much changing on this front.
How do you feel about splitting the Caste bead into two beads (i.e. one for generation, and one for age/status) for all future bead draws?
This idea was liked over all. There was 36.6% that liked it, 13.6% that loved it, and 22.7% wrote in other opinions. Of those other opinions the vast majority were positive. It looks like there is support for this change, and staff will be discussing how best to move forward.
What do you think the game needs MORE of?
The responses here varied. Some responses wanted less interaction with other supernatural types, some wanted more. Some responses wanted more mundane plots. A consistent response was more plot hooks, and more plot resolution. We are already moving forward with introducing more plot hooks, and getting more players involved.
What do you think the game needs LESS of?
Cards was a big one here. As well less world changing events, and high powered enemies.. Cards will be discussed more in depth in the card section. As for worlding changing events and high powered enemies, that seems to feed into what the game needs more of. Mundane plots, city focused politics, and more plot hooks to capture the interest of players across clan lines.
How fair have you found the staff to be in regard to out of game items?
I am pleased to say we did well here. Fairness is extremely important, so I was pleased that 42.9% answered mostly fair and 23.8% answered very fair.
Rate our paper table!
We did good here as well. Most of the responses were positive, with the highest percentage (47.6%) reporting the paper table as good.
How would you rate your overall experience with EC Vampire?
Again, we did well here. 52.4% responded that they have had a good experience with ECC vampire. The next biggest block was Average. It is my hope to shift this more into the good category over the coming months.
CARDS!
The responses for cards showed that the vast majority of players would like restrictions on cards. The popular responses were reducing the number of cards a player can play per evening, per round of combat and at character gen. The responses regarding card classifications was very mixed, as was using cards against other PC’s. After looking through all of the responses the following changes are being implemented:
- You can only use one card at character creation.
- You can only use 3 common, 2 uncommon and 1 rare card per night.
- You can only use 1 card per round.
