Mother Arrested for Drowning of Toddler

A 2-year-old girl who died on Wednesday was drowned by her mother, officials said Friday.
Cops arrested the mom, 21-year-old Melody Parker, after an autopsy revealed that Angela Parker was the victim of a homicide. Meldody was charged with murder, manslaughter and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
Anthony, Melody’s live in boyfriend, called the allegations against Melody shocking. “I just can’t believe it. Melody loves Angela. I’ve never even seen her so much as yell at her” Anthony said. “I’m heartbroken. She was practically my little girl. I don’t know what I’m going to do now.”
Paramedics were called to the home in Lower Queen Anne about 7:30 pm when Anthony found the toddler unconscious in the bathroom. She was rushed to the Northwest Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Melody’s arraignment is scheduled for next Tuesday.
