My favorite place to be is sitting on a balcony. An open place, where i can feel the breeze brush across my skin and through my hair. A simple thing, really, but it reminds me how much my life has changed from the years i spent locked away.
It doesn't matter that the season is turning toward autumn, toward the cold. I, honestly, don't notice it much. And a blanket wrapped around my shoulders provides the same comfort as my shawl...
I could sit there for hours, just enjoying the movement of the air; the clouds drifting across the nights sky and the occasional peeks of the moon and stars.
I can't help but smile to myself as i think of the first night i was able to get out after my embrace. Being so distracted by the beauty of the night that dawn would have caught me if it weren't for the care of my brother and his lady.
Then a shiver goes down my spine as i feel breath on my neck and ear come from lips that aren't there. They whisper to me about how good it will be to have a body again so he can feel me properly again. So he can run his hands along my skin and hold my heart in his hands.
I am honestly not sure if he means figuratively or literally; he's done both.
I pull the blanket tighter around me and i start to cry.
"Leave me alone, Judas," I plea.
...but I know he won't
