Okay, well, I know this isn't really werewolf-y, but I don't really care. Nyah.
For those of you that don't follow the news, Katrina's pretty much the worst hurricane to hit the U.S., ever. They have 55 confirmed deaths and hundreds more unconfirmed, estimates of $26 billion in property damage and climbing, millions of people homeless, entire neighborhoods of 40,000+ houses under water, levees have breached in New Orleans and the water's still rising... parts of the city under 20 feet... and the water's filled with oil and other nasty stuff and people are sitting on their roofs to try and survive... it's bad.
Why am I bothering posting this here? Well, in case anyone here doesn't follow the news, and might be able and willing to help. Give the Red Cross 5 bucks. Or a church collection plate, if you go to church. It'd buy someone a meal, and there's a lot of people still stuck without food, clean water, and power down on the Gulf Coast.
I'll probably bring it up at game if an ST doesn't, just to spread the word. Every bit helps. I'd go down there if I could... we know people in the area hit by the hurricane, and Richard's family lives in Pensacola, which got three direct hits in the last year... we know all about how bad these damn storms can be.
Anyhow. Just food for thought. Also, as a werewolf-y note... we may want to work on carpooling further on the camping trip if we wind up with more rides than people. Gas prices aren't going down anytime soon, given that 8 percent of the nation's oil-refining capacity's gonna be out of commission for a while.
Okay. I'm done being a goody-two-shoes. Back to game stuff.
