This week I handed out questionnaires to the various primogen- they list off the high status kindred in the city as well as anybody who had Positional or Loaned status at the time. I've asked the primogen to fill it out with whether each kindred deserves to have the status they do, and next week I will collect them and note any changes necessary due to majority opinion. I'm sure I'll have more announcements about this next week. I've let the Primogen have a week to fill it out in case they wish to consult their clanmates or trade boons or consult the other primogen about individuals, but if they don't wish to do any of those things that's completely their prerogative. There's also been quite a few changes this week (which I will be getting to in a bit) that made some of the entries on that list a moot point, but I hope the primogen will still fill out the remainder, as clearly this sort of thing is becoming important to keep track of.
Morris Tobias and Earl have had their pictures distributed in the mortal news as being "Paris Hilton's next boyfriends?" - for those of you who are unaware, Paris Hilton is a major mortal celebrity (don't ask me for what, but that's irrelevant). As I'm sure everybody is aware, there was an Edict recently against having this sort of activity going on. Prince Casterly informs me that somebody (not the two of them) influenced the media to display these pictures, and the investigation continues as to who is responsible.
In a previous note I mentioned that some people were interested in how the city viewed having Anarch neighbors. Due to other recent events this may be a moot point now, but as the conversation did come up in Elysium, Simone reported that she "likes having as many meat shields between her and danger as possible". While perhaps a bit blunt, this seemed to be the general consensus of the domain.
Apparently last week Dr. Longfellow contracted Samuel Lechley to find out who burned down his business several months ago. According to Marcus, Lechley has tried to claim that Marcus did it in a malicious manner. This is an entertaining accusation because Marcus did do the deed, and admits to it freely, but he claims he did it on request from Kira, who was the Seneschal at the time. The reasoning being that the business was located within her personal domain and was, to Kira's mind, a danger to the Masquerade.
Tiberius, an Independent Toreador, would like to make it known publicly that he formally apologizes to Madsen for "publicly embarrassing him at the Giovanni party and making obviously incorrect accusations". As Tiberius is Independent, he'll not be docked any status and any favors he owes aren't ones that are going to be backed by me, but that's his apology.
Rigs has apparently been suffering for quite some time under the assumption from the entire city that his name was spelled Riggs. It's not, according to him, and I've corrected my notes. Rigs also this night had his office taken over for the duration of Luthias's investigation into the lightning storm that struck Ileana's Haven (an investigation that Casterly has loaned him the status of Defender for).
There were quite a few interesting situations in Elysium this evening. Luthias tried to convince Ariel Martin to summon some of the Gangrel to Elysium for questioning. Meaka, as Host, is concerned that Luthias's actions could be seen as flouting the Law of Elysium, and I'm sure I'm going to end up having a conversation with the Keeper about whether there will be any follow-up to that. In any case, Ariel refused, even after Luthias claimed that Casterly had claimed that the gangrel had attacked Casterly with fang and claw (Casterly claims that he has made no such claim). Concerned that Ariel would interfere with the punishment intended for the gangrel, Luthias ordered her into a nearby room with her ghoul and abandoned them there while he sought out the Gangrel that he was looking for. Unfortunately the restraint proved too much for Ariel to handle, and in her frenzy her ghoul was killed. I hope the domain will join me in feeling sympathy for Ariel's loss.
Interestingly, the gangrel (Vince, Saga, and Lachina) did come to Elysium under their own power, and Vince complained that his keycard no longer worked- apparently nobody had informed him that he was no longer Scourge, and he had some choice words to say about that. The three of them waiting in Elysium for around twenty minutes, but with no sign of Luthias and no method of going upstairs themselves, they then left.
Casterly had been keeping/holding Nadia Giovanni in his haven. Apparently several people had threatened Nadia's life (and most kindred in the domain had certainly thought that she was gone), but Casterly was holding her in his haven, keeping her safe. Until this last week, when several gangrel, including Thorn, Vince and Lachina, raided his haven and killed Nadia. As this is a violation of both the Second and Sixth Traditions, Prince Casterly has issued several punishments, which will be detailed below so as to have better organization.
Punishments-
Vince Blackbird is no longer Scourge. Due to his discipline use against Prince Casterly in an attempt to intimidate him, Casterly finds that Vince is no longer Loyal. Due to his invading Casterly's personal haven, he is no longer Courageous. Due to his part in the breach of the Sixth Tradition, he is no longer Acknowledged in this Domain.
Lachina, for admitting to spying and selling secrets while Seneschal, Casterly finds her to no longer be Trusted. Due to invading Casterly's personal haven, Casterly finds her as no longer Courageous. Due to her part in the breach of the Sixth Tradition, she is no longer Acknowledged in this Domain.
Saga, for causing the lightning storm that struck Ileana's Haven, is no longer found as Honorable by Casterly. For being found responsible for this destruction of a kindred's haven, in my office as Harpy I find that she owes Ileana at least a Major Boon, possibly more depending on what damages Ileana suffered during the occurance, if she lived. Due to her part in the breach of the Sixth Tradition, she is no longer Acknowledged in this Domain.
Thorn, for assaulting havens and his part in the breach of the Sixth Tradition, is no longer Tolerated within this domain. All other Anarchs within the domain are also not Tolerated, and the Anarch domains of Tacoma and Everett are reclaimed by the Camarilla domain. Which clan shall be granted them will be decided soon.
Now, this is a lot of gangrel losing a lot of status in very short order, which indicates to me that the members of the gangrel clan may not have had their status policed as well as it should have been. This is partially what I handed out questionnaires to the primogen to prevent, but another interesting result has come out of it- if people have been giving status to kindred that do not deserve it, their word is weakened in the eyes of the Camarilla. As such I'm going to let it be known- if you grant a status that is stripped within a short time period, this is a scandal and I will view it as such.
On that note the fact that five status has been stripped for justified reasons among the gangrel seems scandalous. I'll be taking a look into who granted the status for the affected kindred above and I'll try to have more information about adjustments soon.
New arrivals into the domain-
Elle Salazar DeCorazon returned from Spain and was Acknowledged. She is also known as Cherished, Trusted, Precious, and Diplomatic. She claims that the activities of the local Toreador clan brought her attention, and hopes to support Jazz in her primogenship. She's just visiting, she claims, and will likely be present for only a few months.
Colin Colissimo has returned as well. Colin, a Ventrue, is known as Honorable as well as several other things that I'm sure I'll hear about soon (Status 5 after acknowledgement). He's here to stay, although his transfer apparently requires some set-up so his presence will be a little spotty for the next little while.
Richard Gamble was a new Malkavian in town last week. He's known as Acknowledged, Insightful, Straightforward, Determined, Loyal, Brave, but also known as (-)Cruel.
Not exactly a new arrival, as he's been here a few weeks, but there has been some minor irregularity with Drakos's introduction and follow-up understanding of status. He's apparently quite a bit more respected within the Camarilla than had been previously reported (He's Status 5 after acknowledgement). I'm still hoping to find out for what, and I'll let people know when I do.
Boons-
Richard Gamble owes two Trivial boons to Kira for arranging introductions to various kindred around the town.
Saga owes Ileana at least a Major boon, and may be adjusted higher if Ileana suffered damage but survived the assault.
