Ladies and Gentlemen, some of you may be aware NOTR is holding a Silent Auction to raise funds for the Haunted House. Similar to last year's raffle, we are collecting new and gently used items for the bidding. See your STs or local NOTR rep to donate.
Unlike last year, instead of selling tickets to win a more or less random prize, you will have the chance to BID on the items you love most. A silent auction consists of a written bid sheet for each item, and people come along and write down their bid (like ebay with paper), at the end of the auction, the highest bid wins. Easy peasy.
The three options presented have pluses and minuses, so we want to know what is going to work best for you, mostly so more of you will come and bid and help us raise the money we need.
1 & 2 are the end of September and have the advantage that the money raised can go toward that first months rent, however the disadvantage is that there isn't a great central location outside and people would have to leave their games to get to the auction area.
3 does require us to be up to a certain level of financial stability before the auction (see our monthly financial updates for more news on that), but also allows us to say, set up a table in the gym which is much easier for everyone to reach regardless of sphere
4 has the advantage of not needing a location, and it can last for several days, giving people who might miss the night of the auction in options 1-3 a chance to bid, and the disadvantage that you cannot see the stuff in person.
Please vote, comment, question or add suggestions, as we're always looking for the best way to get your money... a, er... that is, help the community fund its indoor gaming habit ;P
Thank you,
Kaine
