Quite an eventful night last night in Elysium. I am slightly changing the order I talk about things this week, which I think you will understand.
First, new arrivals:
Lord Silas Boren a Noble, Diplomatic, Well-spoken, Plenipotentiary Elder Ventrue recently arrived from Hamburg.
Carmen Masters a Well-Traveled, Firey, Savvy Ancilla Brujah arrived from Hamburg at the same time. These two appear to travel together quite often.
Michael Fabsits a Loyal, Brave Neonate Toreador recently arrived from Los Angeles. There is some scandal about his Sire not too long ago, a decade or so, who was executed as a traitor. Quite infamous actually. But, Michael has had no hints of this sort of scandal personally.
Ebenezer Smith is a newly embraced Childe of our Luminary, Exalted Prince Colosimo.
Wyatt Harper has arrived from Louisianna and has been tolerated by our court as an independent.
Some announcements from the upper court:
Tracer Jones of Clan Gangrel is now Acknowledged as a Camarilla member and has been appointed as his Highness’s Chamberlain. Great to have him in the Camarilla and good to see him being recognized for the work he has been doing for the last few weeks.
Chenoa, the whip of clan Toreador, has been granted the right of progeny.
As mentioned last week, the Discerning Masquer David Price will be retiring from his position. He will be stepping down in 3 weeks at which time his replacement will be announced. He is currently tutoring his replacement. I actually had the chance to speak with Mr. Price about his decision to step down. He has indicated that he took the reins as Masquer when there was a dangerous threat of a Purge, issues with FBI, secret agencies, and all sorts of problems. And he helped the domain through that. And now the job doesn’t need as much experience to complete, so he can step down. He mentioned to me that he is happy with his replacement.
There will be an Accounting sometime in the next month or two. It is fairly traditional after a change in Praxis, even though it has only been 4 months since the last accounting. If the Primogen have a preferred week for the accounting, they should speak with their clan and the Harpy who is arranging the accounting.
There have been accusations of Infernalism within this domain tin the recent past. Prince Colosimo would like it to be known that anyone who brings forth an accusation puts their own standing at risk if their accusation should prove to be false. Not that this is truly any different than things have been, it is simply something that everyone needs to be aware of.
On a related note, there is an issue occurring between the Cunning Primogen Styx and the Witch-Hunter Warmaster Luthias. I and the Harpy Aristat will get into the details of this in a separate discussion.
The Enigmatic Keeper Mad Tom Mercer would like it to be known that there are to be no interrogations in the back room of Elysium. If people want to perform such activities within Elysium, they clearly do not know what an interrogation or an Elysium is. I personally have no idea what brought this announcement on, I did not have a chance to inquire.
Alright, some boons for the evening:
- Sarah Smith owes Primogen Styx a minor boon for needed information. Styx immediately called in this boon for Sarah Smith’s support in his dispute with Luthias.
- Tomadaius owes Mad Tom a minor boon for information.
- Octavio Papo Cortes owes Mad Tom a minor boon for allowing the harpy to use the power of her blood to stop an escalating fight in the Elysium.
- Octavio Papo Cortes owes Mad Tom a minor boon to prevent the loss of status for the Brave Michael Fabsits who used a power of blood to prevent an escalating fight in Elysium.
- Styx and Octavio Papo Cortes have requested boons for the insults and difficulties from Roger Clemmings. The exact level of these boons have yet to be determined, and of course Mr. Clemmings would need to agree to them.
Now, onto the incident. The Honorable Octavio Papo Cortes and the Relentless Styx were at a table with an independent Setite, Estelle I believe, where she had brought out a book. Apparently the Empathic Roger Clemmings approached and demanded the book. In a very vehement and raised voice fashion. That he would have the book no matter the consequences. Styx and Octavio both felt this appeared to be a threat, tensions escalated, concern was apparent. The Independent Toreador Myka was also standing toe to toe with Octavio as part of this, so, escalating tensions. The Keeper not being in Elysium, the newly arrived Loyal Michael Fabsits went out of Elysium and Summoned Myka away from the confrontation, with such mastery of the power that Myka tripped over a chair and bumped Ariel out of the way on his way out. Then, the Diligent Harpy Aristat departed Elysium calling for Roger Clemmings to follow, when he did not immediately follow, she Summoned him from the encounter before things escalated.
Outside Elysium, Roger Clemmings, who already owes Aristat a minor boon for something unrelated, declared that his time was too valuable to waste with Aristat. I don’t know the full details of the conversation, but because of this, the Harpy Aristat has declared Roger Clemmings to no longer be known as Empathic.
All of this leads to the question, to the court, the camarilla, and the Keeper. What is appropriate to do to prevent violence within Elysium. Clearly since no-one was punished for stepping up and controlling Sebastian when he was forced to frenzy in Elysium by Samuel Sorrow, in the Keeper’s view it looks like controlling violence with supernatural powers is fine, but preventing it in the first place with supernatural powers is not accepted, unless someone has specific permission? If this is the case, perhaps we need a few people given permission to prevent violence when the Keeper is not available. I am not certain where the Host was at this time.
As I said, quite an eventful night on the night of the new moon.
