The light of the moon, flooded down from the sky, illuminating the grove. In the center of it, sat the male. Another figure, shared the surroundings with him, cloaked in darkness both natural and supernatural. A light breeze shifted through the landscape, causing gentle rustling of leaves and grass. It was a calming night, but the Gangrel looked anything but calmed. A deep frown, rested across his features. A light shake of his head, denying something yet unspoken. He knew what the person wanted to know, but he also knew what telling it would do to him and for him.
A promise was a promise. They had given so much to him, already, so with a moment of stillness to gather himself, brilliant jade eyes lifted.
"Freedom means everything to me, as it does to you. There was a time, when I was a slave. The things I did.." A deep frown crossed across his lips. Eyes shifted downward in shame. "The crimes against humanity I committed. The lives I took. For what?"
He trembled a bit, at the memories repressed, that began to flood. The individual opposite of him, kept a smooth grin upon their face. Something twisted and sadistic. "Tell me a story, Simon. Who did you used to be?"
His eyes looked distant. Glazed over with visions of the past flooding him. Drowning him. Trembling lips parted, and the story began.

Little Rock, Arkansas; January 2000
The night air was crisp. Snow fell, a rare occasion as it is. How could they not sneak out, for a bit of fun? Rich and Melissa had always been one to ignore the rules of their parents. Two young kids, madly in love.. or at least a close proximity of such. She had been a band geek, a flute player and a damned good one with enough talent to take herself to college with it, some day, and beyond. He, had measure of success doing track and field. Two blooming and promising young adults, hopelessly enthralled with each other. What better place to spend a full moon night, in the snow, than the school playground. It wasnt too far away from their home, and the idea of kicking feet through the snow while swinging, had been really appealing to Mel. Rich didn't care what they did, as long as time was spent with her. It always led to fooling around, and that was what he had his sights set on, for the evening, of course.
So they met, in the dead of the night, all wrapped up in coats and scarfs. She approached from the north, he from the south. The met in the middle, near the monkey bars and tire swing. She carried a playful glint in her eyes, and he carried a grin upon lips. Gloves hands met each other, as they came together, inexperienced but learning kisses placed upon each other's lips. Soon the contact broke, and she glanced up to him with a bashful look.
"Heya." A blushed hue to her cheeks. Breath fogged.
"Sup." Said coolly, from the young man. Breath fogged.
She slipped a little back, reaching for his hand. Glove in glove, as she began to pull him towards the swings. "Dad finally passed out?" He nodded in response. She giggled. "My parents are out at a party. We got maybe an hour or two, before I gotta get back." She smirked back at him. "Dont expect getting lucky tonight." But that playful teasing shine in her eyes, said that he may still have a chance... just depended on how the time spent with him went, and maybe a little buttering up.
He laughed and shook his head."Then what the hell am I doing here?" She gasped and slapped his arm. He laughed a bit harder and stopped a couple more of his swats. "Kiddin... kiddin. Sheeeesh." They both laughed, met for another kiss, then she slipped into the swing. Eyes glanced up expectantly to him.
"Push?" She batted her pretty lashes at him, pleading all sweet-like. He couldn't help but grin. He knew the name of this game. Be sweet for a while, be a gentleman, and maybe get to slide hands along her form later. You bet your ass, he was gunna softly push her.
Crunching of the snow, under his feet, as he made his way around. A slow pull of the chains suspending the swing, then a soft push. He understood the physics of building momentum, and too rough.. and he might not have his way, tonight. Boys... only one thing on their minds.
She giggled into the night, kicking her feet through the snow covered ground, sending a shower of white up into the air, and watched it descend slowly. She was happy. Who wouldn't love this? She glanced over her shoulder at him, eyeing the smile on his face and catching his brown eyes locked directly on her blue ones.
"Richie," she spoken in gentle sweet tone. "Do you think that you love me?"
He blinked, looking at her, then used hands to slowly bring the swinging to a stop. Crunch, crunch, crunch. Back before he her stood, coming in close and standing above her. "I have never loved a thing, more. I remember how we used to play and run and fight together. I remember holding you, when your dog died. I remember telling myself, 'some day, I am going to marry this girl.'" He smiled and nodded. "Told my parents that, back when we were six. They thought it was the cutest thing, but I don't ever think they suspected that I might actually have the chance."
He kneeled before her, placing gloved hands upon her knees. That look she gave him, was so open. So happy. Cheeks flushing again. "I do, love you. Mel. When you find a college, I am going to go there, too. We are going to have a life, have a family, and live happily ever after." It wasn't just words to get into her pants. His dark brown eyes shined with a truth, that pierced hr very heart. She leaped off the swing and wrapped him up in the tightest of hugs. She sprayed kisses all across his face.
"I love you too... so much..."
Then, there was a noise. It stemmed from the the treeline, of the nearby woods. The sounds of a dog whimpering. She froze and both looked towards the darkness, a bit scared and still, at first. "What is that?" She questioned him, looking up a bit worried.
"Sounds like a dog. Sounds hurt." He furrowed his brows, and slowly slipped away from her. "One of the trappers probably caught one of the neighbors dogs." He always did have a soft spot, for animals. The very thought of his conclusion, he really couldn't bare. So, with a crunching, he began to make his way towards the treeline. Timid, but curiosity and kind heartedness was getting the better of him.
She reached for him and grabbed his arm. "Just leave it, Richie. I got a bad feeling about this. Let us just call the sheriff and have them deal with it?" She was pleading with him. But as he looked back at here with a bit of sadness and frustration in his eyes, she knew she wouldn't be able to stop him... and she sure as hell wasn't going into the darkness to find out what was going on.
He kissed her lips, and whispered. "I will be right back. If I can't see it from the treeline, I will come back, okay?" She nodded, reluctantly and hands remove themselves from his arm, and folded over her chest. Her eyes looked this way and that, nervous and suddenly really scared.
Richie moved with careful, and very slow steps towards the whimpering sound. A little bit closer, with each step. Eyes squinted, trying to pierce the darkness of the woods, to no success. And a step before he got to the treeline, the whimpering stopped. And the night air was till and quiet. He froze... and listened. Maybe it had ran away. Maybe it wasn't trapped, after all?
Mel had had enough. "Alright... it stopped. Come back, and let's go home, okay?"
Richie waited a moment longer, then turned around in place. With a shrug, he went to take a step towards her. "I guess it was nothing too important..."
Then from the darkness, a black wolf with glowing red eyes emerged, and lunged forward. Glistening white teeth sank into the boy's leg, then immediately yanked him off his feet, to face plant into the snow covered ground. He instantly screamed, and withing a flash, was ripped off and dragged into the woods. The sounds of his screaming grew kind of faded in only moments, accompanied by the sounds that could only be described as something ripping into him.
"RICHIEEEEE!!!!!!!" She screamed at the woods. Petrified with shock and fear for a moment, her only logical course, in her brain, was to turn and run back to her house. She could get there, call 911. There was no way she could do anything about a wolf, herself. FUCK FUCK FUCK.
As she turned, and started to run, she ran smack into something hard, which sent her sprawling backwards to the ground. It stunned her for a moment, and she looked up to be greeted by a figure in a hooded sweatshirt.
She blinked and with tears streaking down her face, she pleased. "Please, mister! You have to help me! My boyfriend... something.. a wolf... it took him! You have to help me save him!!!!!!!!"
It was impossible to make out the face, in the shadows of the hood, but suddenly... the figure had burning green glowing eyes. In the glow, a wicked grin carried upon it the figure's lips. Toothy grin. Fanged grin.
Her eyes widened and she went to scream again, but in an instant, the figure reached down and took her by the throat. It slowly lifted her up off the ground. She struggled against the crushing grasp, frantic to find her feet on the ground again and try to get away. It was hopeless. She kicked dangling feet, chocking, trying to peel at the hand that held her suspended in air. Choking. The thing that held her spoke to her in a low, hissing tone, in a language she didnt understand, but distinctly made out as Russian. Then...
Crunching within her throat...
Blackness.....

Morning rolled around, and Linda, 11th grade Algebra teacher, had made her way to school early today. She had also just happened to be the head of the PTA. There was a busy morning planned, this Saturday morning. She had to set up not only for the teach conference, but also the upcoming food drive for the local church.
Busy, busy, busy.
She wasnt even looking around her, as she carefully made her way up towards the steps of the front door, the playground off to her left side. She she looked to her hands, fumbling with the keys to the front door, she passed under the flag poll, and a single red drop appeared upon grey leather gloves. She immediately stopped, looking at the spot... staring at it, really. Other hand raised a finger, and touched the spot, rubbing the crimson substance between gloved fingers. She frowned, and brought it to nose. A look of confusion, as she realized the rustic smell it carried.
This was blood.
Maybe a bird had been injured and flew past her over head.
She looked slowly up, and here eyes fell upon the top of the flag poll.
Those eyes widened... a scream wanted to fall out of her mouth, but it just...didnt. She began to tremble, and started to step backwards, into the playground, a look of horror swept across her features and into her very being.
In her steps backwards, she ran into something, with a thud. She quickly wheeled around on it.. and the sight she saw... finished the scream that have been too frozen to come out, previously. Ear piercing shriek ripped through the sunny, snowy, January day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The local and country news told it all. Two bodies had been found. One, was sitting in the middle of the playground, Indian style, it's skin flayed off from muscle. Skinned. The autopsy report stated this may have happened while the female victim was alive. In the girl's lap, had been a skull, with spine attached. Dental records matched it with a local boy, which none of the rest of his body could be found. And as for the flag pole, the stripped skin of the girl floated high at the top, waving in the frigid winds. The scene was so gruesome, local and state officials said they had never seen anything of it's caliber...ever. They stated this had to be the work of a psychotic, with medical like precision. They vowed to find the individual or individuals that did this terrible crime, and bring them to justice of the chair.

Simon, was a crying mess, by the time the story was finished. The individual across from him was silent, maybe horrified. It could only ask one question....
"Why?"
The trembling, crimson stained face looked slowly up. The pain had gone from his voice, and a cold tone followed in the wake of his heartache and shame. Something... Russian accented.
"Because, I could." Stated coldly.
